At the CMJ Music Fest Saturday night, Mae (http://www.whatismae.com) performed 7 new songs off their new album coming out on March 29th. Two of the songs are titled 'Breakdown' and 'Ever Glow'

Okay, but how were they?

i was at this show and as much as i adore mae, i was really disappointed they didn't play at least one old song for the fans to enjoy and sing along to. granted cmj is a showcase, i still feel like it's a little self-indulgent for a band to play a half hour set of only new songs just because they're "proud" of them. regardless, the band sounded great live as they always do.

mewithoutyou played a stellar set, although by the end of it i felt like they had just played one very long song. underoath is ridiculous live, and even though i'm not really into their sound they're really great for what they do. i swear their synth player never quits bouncing around. i was disappointed by further seems forever, although i was never remotely interested in them until the singer of sense field joined the band. it was a little awkward seeing them play, everytime the mic was held out to the crowd one of the kids in front would grab it and steal it for a few lines before the mic would get pulled back to stage by its chord. i couldn't tell if that was normal or just disrespectful to the new singer.
