The Starting Line (http://www.startinglinerock.com) will be handing out samplers (the same rough versions off purevolume.com) with the tracks "Surprise, Surprise" and "Bedroom Talk" on their current tour with Yellowcard. In addition to the songs, the cd sampler has a nice little video of the band recording their new full-length "Based On A True Story."

...and while they are doing that they should probably let Tom know that the popped collar needs to be stopped immediatly!!! He's not a frat boy - well, as far as i know he isn't. Regardless though....drop the collar dude!

someone should really tell them that these two songs are horrible. the starting line was my favorite pop punk band, what the hell happened with these two songs though. they need to go back the drawing board. musically they are still awesome, but i can't get past some of the lyrics. normally lyrics don't make a difference to me, but some of these are just utter shit for lack of a better word.

i liked the first version of the song better, when i first heard it last year, before the Make Yourself at Home acoustic... did anyone else hear it?

I really like them, but I have to agree about Kennys hair. It use to be ok, but it just plain looks like a chic now. And I'm not a big fan of the lyrics to "Bedroom Talk".

since when is the popped collar something that frat boys do? the flipped collar has been around for like 5 years and yet it's still cool....get a clue though...basically, Tom is the man, his shirt is sweet (w/ the collar up), his sandals are awesome (i have the same ones), and the rest of the band is also very cool....kenny just needs to go back to his old hair style

Since when is music about how someones hair looks? If you don't like the band based on a haircut I don't think they need you as a fan. I guess I should call Kenny and tell him he needs to look just like every other kid that goes to shows, that will make him cool!

I'll respect you if you hate on the music but personal insults on a haircut is a fucking joke!

Yeah, the song sounds pretty cool but the lyrics are really bad.

and for anyone commenting about the lyrics in "bedroom talk", wait until you see the interview.. kenny goes into detail about why he wrote that.

remember, writers/singers/artists don't write for you guys, they write for themselves, and that's how it should be.

Ok I feel compelled to come out of hiding and comment.. Bedroom talk has some amazing lyrics they are the first band In our genre to touch up on the sex talk and you don't get better lyrics then "I'm gonna tear your ass up like we just got married.." Maybe it's because all of you are like 15 and have never had sex.. Try actually listening to what he says thats not what he is saying at all. I'm not going to talk about his personal life here but I know for a fact that Kenny has never had a one night stand. Try dropping your fear of sex and actually listen to what he's saying.



Im 18. Ive never had sex. And Im not going to until I am married. The lyrics are pretty bad. Yes, he can write what he wants, but a lot of their fans are teenagers and singing about one night stands is not really a great message to be putting out.

i've had a lot of sex and i still hate that song. to be fair though, i stopped listening after that whole tearing your ass up like we just got married line. theres cheesy and then there's just plain stupid.

That's how I interpreted the lyrics. Obviously I was wrong. I apologize.
