Appreciate. The 101ers, The Clash, Mescaleroes, Pogues, and that other one that I always forget and no one ever talks about anyway.

The Clash were great, but I still find myself appreciating the Ramones more. I don't know why though. To me it seems as if the clash were the better musicians but the Ramones were just infectious. It's all really confusing. In any case, Joe strummer was still amazing.

I like them better. Don't get me wrong, The Clash is one of my favorite bands as well, but Mescaleroes are higher. Johnny Appleseed, Coma Girl, pretty much all of Streetcore and most of Global-A-Go-Go whereas I have only a few "favorite songs" from The Clash, individually.

They just seem to come as a package for me, like whenever I think of one or the other, my thoughts drift to the other band. I just can't help it. Godfathers of punk anyone?

Metaphors, my dear. Plus, I've literally been lost in a supermarket and then I start following people around because I think they're my parents... when I came into the store by myself in the first place. So either way is quite possible.

The Clash were my introduction into punk music and leftist politics. :-)

"If your gonna be a (song) writer, you might as well write about what I call the three a.m thoughts. You're trying to go to sleep and you're thinking about things that have caught your attention or your interest, that's really the subject matter that makes good songs (etc)...Punk Rock cuts through the curtain and sees what's really going on." -Joe Strummer, Punk Rock Warlord
