The Worst Bands Live!

Well, I've managed to see alot of bands, and alot of the ones i expected to be good seeing as they were popular or whatever, sucked.
examples: Metro Station, All Time Low, Play!Radio!Play! (because his songs all have completely fake accents), The Maine was amazing the first time i saw them, and then the second, they sounded terrible. confuzzzing.

All Time Low is actually good live. But the majority of pop-rock bands in the "scene" have auto-tuned vocals and I agree can't replicate them live.

I just wouldn't personally lump Say Anything with those bands. Max's vocals are shit live and shit in studio. It's part of the appeal.

Emarosa was a particularly crappy show when I saw them this summer. The first time I saw Envy on the Coast they were great (the winter tour with Anthony Green) but then when I saw them open for TREOS at the final show Ryan's vocals left a lot to be desired. Senses Fail is also very poor.

Me too! I definitely liked Anathallo at the Donkey better. I saw them the summer before when they toured with The Format. My friend won a street team contest through The Format for an acoustic show at The Cutting Room in the city, so he brought me as his "+1", and Anathallo played a set too. Really great live band.

The worst band I ever saw live was Fall of Troy. They bored the ever loving shit out of me, gave me a headache, and the drummer got so pissed at one point that he threw his sticks down, left, and came back ten minutes later like nothing happened. I saw the guys from Coheed and Cambria play obviously fucked up out of their mind (Claudio fell through the drum kit at the end and pretty much berated the crowd the whole time), and it is still nothing like the clusterfuck that was The Fall of Troy.

each of the three times i've seen them (opening for other bands or as part of a festival each time), they were god awful.

finger 11 goes on top of my list of 'horrible live bands to never see again', too - the singer was so wasted, he stopped mid-song to puke multiple times, slurred through songs, and only played a 4 song set.

James just has so much personality and makes sure no one in the crowd is bored.

I can even pin down the exact show: 30 Seconds To Mars at the 2007. The crowd sang more 30STM than Jared Leto did.

And I've seen The Dear Hunter twice and they were amazing both times!

YES YES YES. Jesus Christ Ive never want to jump on stage and start stabbing people like I did when I saw Mayday Parade. Like a fool i gave them a second chance at warped and it was just awful. The singer cant hold a tune in a 50gallon bucket. I wanted to make a sign that said I can sing your songs better than you but I didnt have proper supplies.... and I didnt want to get mobbed by teenie boppers

Fall out boy was actually good the first time I saw them. Now mind you this was in 01 or 02 In Chicago. The band was down to earth and sounded really good considering the band PA equiptment. Each time Ive seen them since its been a rapid decline until the last show I attended in 05 when I decided that Pet wentz would really be better off dead than alive...

I agree with you about Mayday Parade. They weren't that bad, but when I saw them in June, well for one the guitars were WAY too loud and I could barely hear the song Derek was singing unless they announced it before they played or during the chorus. And when I could hear him sing, it wasn't all that great either. But I might be seeing them in Oct., so maybe my thoughts will change.
