i just listen to the same music over and over again. i listen to augustana's "can't love, can't hurt" and margot & the nuclear so and so's "the dust of retreat" while sometimes spicing it up with some copeland and jack's mannequin.
i've been trying to find new music, but i can't handle these bands similar to what i listed to right now, like cute is what we aim for and blah blah blah. i just need some new music... music that has a possibility of relating to my life right now, not when i was in high school...
let me have it.

you know when a male goat is horny he is in a rut.
If you're looking for a more mature sound, I would suggest the following artists:
Copeland
Dear and the Headlights
Pedro the Lion
Cassino
Start with that, if you like any of it I'll gladly suggest some more.

This.
Maybe some jazz will help? Can't go wrong with Miles, Coltrane, Mingus, etc. First wave punk and early emo are good when you're bored with the current scene. Try some international stuff too, music of other cultures is always good for inspiring and making you listen to things differently. And how about The Posies, Teenage Fanclub, Big Star, Cheap Trick, et all - true power pop, before the term was hijacked and came to mean boy bands with techno beats and emo clothes.
