THE LAST 3 SIGNINGS HAVE SUCKED. ADELPHI isn't any different than HIDDEN IN PLAIN VIEW. HALIFAX isn't anything different to anything else thats out there. Now, you have the terrible HOME GROWN EP, the crap of the crap which is now called AN ANGLE, and isn't too distinguished by it's lyrics or sound, because you know why???? I'll tell you why! When you hear the acoutic guitar, YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT! you're not going to hear anything about politics, hate, what's needed in this world, NO! you're going to hear about love or the pains of growing up. Thats cool and all, but I think the best new signings are JENOAH, for the difference in sound compared to other bands out there and other bands on DTR. HELLOGOODBYE is a little creative bunch that I think is an addition and upgrade to the DTR roster. That is all YA'LL!

for real, an angle wants to be bright eyes, and bright eyes wants to be bob dylan, but the ironic part is that bob dylan doesn't even know who he is anymore! he's so worried about being shot that he's hired bodyguards and doesn't talk to anyone anymore. so everybody moves up on the ladder. Conor is the new Bob Dylan, An Angle is the new Conor, and well nobody wants to be the new An Angle, because they don't even want to be themselves, they want to be Conor.

Just another Bright Eyes resemblance that i caught.......song 5 from an angle "Like a locket, like a necklace, like a bracelet. song off of fevers and mirros from Bright Eyes "A spindle, a darkness, a fever, and a necklace." and the cover art is quite a rip off as well.

yes, this is somewhat of a travesty, and conor oberst, spelled (conor) for those that oftentime misspell the very name they are defending in their rants and raves, would be rolling in his grave, if, of course, he were dead. but he is very much alive. so shut up. an angle may be a carbon copy of bright eyes, but give the guy a break, he's a musician, writing about how he feels, and trying to make a living, no, i won't be picking up the debut album in november, but i will be purchasing the two new bright eyes records on january twenty-fifth, rejoice! bright eyes lives! and that's enough for me to look forward to. if you,on the other hand, want to keep complaining and whining, just write some bright-eyes-esque songs about it, make sure to quaver your voice every once and a while, and get signed by drive-thru, then everyone can make fun of your record and tell you how unoriginal you are... :lol2:

I love the new HomeGrown, it's better than their last full-length.
Hidden in Plain Veiw was good on Operation: Cutthroat, but they are so bland now.
Hellogoodbye is awesome live, they are super nice, funny, have a fresh sound, I like them
An Angle, uh yeah... they wish they were Bright Eyes. I'll probably buy it just to tide me over for the periods when Bright Eyes doesn't put out a record for years.
Halifax is good, I'm sorry. A Writer's Reference is great. They are still young too.
Jenoah is really good. Not exactly what I listen to alot, but the talent is undeniable, and they are growing on me.

hellogoodbye haven't even written/recorded a "new" album yet.

They have a pre-cut/unmastered version with 11 demos on it (atleast that's what I was told). I have it right here and I despise it, hopefully a lot of the songs are cut and replaced with more solid ones. I'll have to wait for the official release to make a fair/honest judgement though, but based on these, Thumbs Down. Big time.

You don't seem to be looking into this hard enough. Every aspect of the music. The arrangements are copied, the vocals sound the sound same that it's creepy, the lyrics are identical to oberst. Bright Eyes does sound like other musicians from previous years I know but not to a T like this douche bag.
