I've been looking around and trying to find a cab to buy. For the most part I play metal/screamo kinda stuff. I've really been thinking about getting an orange cab. Anyone have suggestions?

They've got vintage 30's in them, I believe, so you can't really go wrong. I'd recommend a mesa cab with vintage 30's though, cheaper, and a really good sound.

The oversized Mesa cabs sound really muddy compared to an Orange, or a Traditional size Mesa cab. Also, you can get a great cab from Avatar (http://www.avatarspeakers.com/) with the same speakers for $419 (LINK (http://www.avatarspeakers.com/G412%20SPECIAL.htm))
Also, what kind of sound are you going for? Vintage 30's have a really specific tone, and while they're great at that - and a lot of companies use them- they have their flaws too.

I immediately assumed he'd buy a 2X12. My bad.

I guess I assumed 412, too. Personally, I'd get a 212.

What's your reasoning for the 2x12? And thank you for your feedback.

Way, way easier to move around and not a huge volume difference (only -3dB). Plus, with less speakers, you can drive your power tubes harder, and that always sounds great. If you get a 2x12, just make sure you get it up off the ground and closer to your ears... that's probably the biggest difference between the perceived sound of a 4x12 and 2x12.

Hmm. Well I'll see what I can find. I'm really liking the Avatar cabs though.

Yeah, Avatar's stuff is great. Their cabs have the same speakers as Orange, Mesa, Marshall, etc. but at much cheaper prices.
