Here are my recommendations for the week.
Novice (http://novicerock.com) - I got their CD "Interrupting the Scenery" in the mail, and I was really suprised. It's kind of like a harder Northstar with some screaming. Great production on this album as well.
Forgive Durden (http://forgivedurden.com/) - A local band out of Seattle fronted by former absolutepunk.net staff member Tom Dutton. Me and Tom had lunch this week (He goes to my school) and he gave me a copy of their CD. I popped it in, and suprise suprise - another awesome Seattle band with that "Rocketstar" sound. If you dig This Providence, chances are you'll dig Forgive Durden. They just released an EP produced by Casey Bates (He is starting to make a name for himself...TP, GAD). Awesome pop-rock. I'm feeling it.
The Bronx (http://thebronxxx.com) - I've been listening to their album so much recently. I love the raw energy of this band, everything is so frantic and rough. It's all tracked live but it's still produced well, so it sounds raw, but not bad. Fans of Every Time I Die and Rise Against might wanna check this out. Punk? Hardcore? Straight up rock in your face? Probably the last.
Coheed and Cambria's recently leaked acoustic demos are amazing. There's like 6 songs from IKSOASE:3, and it sounds like a completley new album. I love Claudio, I love his voice, and I love the way the acoustic guitar sounds in these songs. Also, there's 3 songs from his side project, Prize Fight Inferno, on these demos too. I'd recommend keeping your eye out for these and grabbing them if you get a chance.
On a different note, everyone should go out and buy Arrested Development - Season 1 on DVD. This sleeper comedy was the funniest thing on TV last year, but nobody watched it. It almost got cancelled before it won a bunch of Emmys. Ron Howard (show creator) is a genius. If you haven't seen it, check out the Season 2 premiere on Sunday.
Also - Go Red Sox. This season is yours. Reverse the Curse!!!

I posted this in another Thread, but here are my Sunday Recommendations:
This Providence - If you haven't heard anything by these guys then you are missing out. Good stuff.
Underoath - I've liked Underoath since "The Changing of Times" and I know that most people consider that album "old Underoath"... but lately I have been listening to "Cries of the Past" and "Act of Depression" which are two insane albums, and what I would consider "old Underoath". So if you like hardcore, and haven't listened to either of these albums, then check them out.
Acceptance - I heard these guys not too long ago, and just picked up the EP today, and its good stuff. Check them out.
Denver Harbor - Everyone should know these guys already, but if you don't, its 2 old members of Fenix TX's new band. Their cd came out recently, and I suggest you pick it up. It's cheap and good.
Mae - What can I say? They are an amazing band. If you haven't heard these guys (which you already should have) then you haven't lived. And go download "Tisbury Lane" off of their purevolume site.
That is all.

Um, maybe you're new, but go post about this band in the self-promotion section, not in news threads.
i agree, arrested development is far and away the best show on tv. nothing else has me laughing out loud consistently as much as ad does. everyone should be watching it.
p.s. go sox.

And yes, Arrested Development is hilarious. The first season dvd set is only like $30 and has all 23 episodes on it, so it's worth the money. The fact that it has no laugh track is what makes it genius, and the fact that the characters are insane. That being said, go Red Sox!

If that's a Milli Vanilli reference, I can't believe no one has mentioned it yet.
the title of the news post is a milli vanilli reference. i am suprised too, but I'm pretty sure a lot of the readers are too young to remember it.

i have never seen AD but the fact that someone mentioned there is no laugh track makes it seem that much better. my favorite show is curb your enthusiasm for the sole reason there is no laugh track, being told to laugh is like going to a show with a marquee displaying lyrics. i'll have to pick it up. isn't jason bateman aka teenwolf 2 in it as well?

yes he is! Rob, the show is unbelievable. Funny in the same way that Curb ... is. Such subtle humor, lost on many, but not me. You should really check it out.
