when the homesickness sets in
and everything that's home inside you has died
you're simply left with the sickness
this place has unmasked all my downfalls
leaving me defeated and dependent
i can't wander this place with tears in my eyes anymore
searching for something familiar in the streets
ever hint of hope leave me more hollow
how can i hope to survive when that's all i've been doing?
we've all had to abandon the ones we love
but with each new scar there hasn't been reconciliation
since i've been here i've only searched for her face
and tonight i found it in the unfairest of positions
