Does anyone here know a lot about the make up of a computer and like how to build a really good computer and stuff like that? I would like some help.

The nice thing about building your own is that you can update it whenever you want, plus it's customized.

I want to make my own computer because I know enough about them to not really be able to find a good priced one around here, so I figured I would buil my own. The problem is that I just don't now enough to really be able to feel confident enough to make my own. I just need some help with that.

Um, lets see...I'd say go to a smaller computer store that just sells the parts and ask them. That's how we made mine, although that guy I know that knows a lot about computers worked there and helped us. He was my best friend's brother...

But like I said, find a smaller computer store and see if they'll help...

I can make a computer. I get all my parts from Computer Warehouse.

building your own is almost always more expensive (the companies buy in bulk and get huge discounts that you don't)... its only really worth it if you need certain capabilities or you just have an interest in doing it. If you build it yourself you have total control over how it runs and its very easy to udpate and change stuff.
I wouldn't suggest asking people on a punk forum how to build a computer :P. I have read tons of great online articles on the process and many of them give step by step stuff too. So just go to google or whatever and search "how to build your own computer".

I built my own. I spent hours on overclockers forums and looking at other peoples systems. My latest challenge is water cooling, possibly phase change cooling if i get really bored. I built an amazing computer for 1,000 dollars, and I add to it constantly. I think newegg.com is an awesome resource, tigerdirect was nice, and there are millions of sites that have stuff like LED's and nice little trinkets to make your machine look pretty.

The problem is that I want to be able to add onto it later on. And I'm going to a small store. I just don't exactly know about everything.

www.ginstar.com That's where I'm going.
