This past Sunday night at the Straylight Run (http://www.straylightrun.com) and Hot Rod Circuit (http://www.hotrod-circuit.com) show, Hot Rod covered Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down." They also played an amazingly long yet super energetic set. Straylight, namely John and Michelle, covered a Radiohead tune too.

Tom Petty is the man.

"So let me get to the point, let's another joinnnnnnnnt."

"Cause they don't know what it's like, no they don't know what it's life."

If you're going get ready. Straylight put on one of the best performances i've seen in awhile it was incredible.

Yea, I think it's safe to say these covers will be played through out the tour. They were played at the Boston show as well.

the sunday show they're talking about was in detroit, and it was totally sweet... on the way there, i turned on 89X (the big popular modern rock station up here) and they actually had an interview with Straylight Run on... great show, great bands (all of them -- Northstar and Say Anything were totally sweet too, just no cool covers)

I was at that show as well and I too thought it was excellent. Hot rod played for far too long though and it was unfortunate that Max and co. only got to play 4 songs. Straylight far exceeded my expectations.

Straylight didn't play the cover last night in Cincinnati, but it might have been due to time constraints.

i'm going to the chicago show tomorrow alone too!

isn't it a co-headlining tour with straylight heading our date? i really wish they'd play third...i'm not a fan of hrc plus i have class early on thursday's and don't feel like dealing with a bunch of kids at the el. i'll probably end up heading out a little before they end their set to get a head start...not that anyone wanted to know all that.

i assume sr is headlining because the ticket says:

STRAYLIGHT RUN
with hot rod circuit and guests

im going alone too!!!

its a straylight run and hot rod circuit CO-HEADLINING to be exact, with northstar and say anything as openers. which is why HRC gets a plenty long set.

I definitely think the new HRC members are working out well. They seemed to fit right in at the SOB's show in NYC.

yeah i was at the show in detriot.. totally awesome sets by all (mostly say anything) i had to leave early tho and i missed straylight and that kinda sucked... but did was anyone else alittle annoyed at the like six or seven kids who kept moshing during HRC? i mean it wasnt really the right concert to do that at...

I'll make sure to save all my tears for them so I can cry extra hard during their set when they come through my city
