the used's album rivals good charlotte's album as far as shittiness. i swear, these bands are trying to dethrone lucky boys confusion for the title of 'worst band of the year'. lbc has had a lock on this spot for a good.. 5 years now. we'll see what 2005 brings.

i think the used album is good, a different style from what they are known for but still sounds good

What's your point? Anything Ace Enders does shits all over The Used.

Now, I love the new Elliott Smith album, don't get me wrong, and I do think it's some of his best work, but I'm curious about how this album would have been recieved if he was still alive. Would it still be a 5 star album?

That "I Just Wanna Live" song kills GC on album reviews...but I think "Condi" off of Steve Earle's new album is even more moronic.

i agree...great album...but had he still been alive and knowing more cd's were to come i wonder if they would think of it as highly as they do. i'd give it a strong 4.

i agree that from a basement is getting a little inflated reviews because of smith's death, but let's just consider that balancing out how underrated he was before it.

hmmm, another opportunity for me to say that bert's voice is the only reason why In Love and Death wasn't a complete flop. too bad they couldn't have pulled a Brand Newesque sophomore release.

Elliott Smith rocks, as a matter of fact I was watching an rerun of Saturday Night Live today where Elliott was supposed to be the musical guest and it never showed him play. I bitched to my roomates for 2 hours, sadly they didn't care.

you mean he played but he wasn't on camera or he never made it?

I would have cared :)

I'm guessing he played the show and they just cut it in rerun because the show went long. This may be one of the single greatest errors in the history of man(right up there with New Coke and Creed).

Thankyou, that touched me in places I long thought dead :)

I love the new Used cd. It grew on me big time. It's in my top ten for sure. I can admit when i first heard it it was a shock but since listening to it all the way through a few times i think its excellent.

Very few bands can pull of the Brand Newesque sophomore release, with that said, I really like the new Used.

no it would not. smith is a good artist butthe only reason it got 5/5 is because indie is the new emo and he died so "tragically". haha.

Alright a couple things:
1. You got to capitalize the first word in every sentence. It helps you not look all stupid and what not.
2.Anybody who says Elliott Smith died tragically with quotation marks is going to hell. That's just bad juju man.
3.You don't have to start a new sentence for "haha".

there is nothing tragic about suicide. nothing.

and how can you say that i'm "going to hell"? if there is a heaven and a hell, God agrees with me. suicide is bullshit and anyone who commits suicide is more than likely in hell.
