Also, RATM owns. I only kind of liked them for a while, but a couple weeks ago my sister got Evil Empire on vinyl and I started listening to them again, then I went and bought Renegades and Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium. Both of which kick insane amounts of ass. The energy the put into every song is amazing, especially live.

Yeah, I just got into them again. I liked them for a period a few years ago, but then recently I listened to them again and got so into them my sister and I went out and bought Evil Empire on vinyl, the Renegades cd and the live cd, and the live dvd. They're amazing and the energy, especially live, is awesome, it makes me want to go off.

This thread is old, but I thought I would revive it. Ah I actually am listening to "Evil Empire" right now (the first time in soo long) and I must say I definetly miss this band. ah seriously this band is what got me into music in the first place. I will never forget my first concert. It was the last Rage show in Philly, and I believe their last tour before they broke up, and my dad took me when I was in the 5th grade as a birthday present. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen, they had that place going nuts. I was disappointed that they broke up, but every band comes to an end sometime.

oh hell yeah! even tho a lot of (if not most of) their stuff was politically driven. they still kicked ass for their time!!! [1992 anyone?] not to mention all that shit Tom Morello did to make his guitars sound so badass WITHOUT the use of processors, thank you. i never would have thought sliding a 9V battery up & down my strings, or playing with a quarter for heavier pick slides. did they ever use an e-bow?

Best mainstream of the 90s. Period. Yes, better than Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, et al. So much more creativity and the sheer fact that Morello makes all the sounds via guitar is sick. Funny enough I've been listening to them over the past couple of days. No matter this band will always be one of my favorites and for good reason. Socially relevant at all times coupled with such killer music. I wish I could have seen them live just once.
