It seems that one of My Chemical Romance (http://www.mychemicalromance.com)'s fans is very concerned about Gerard's sexuality for whatever reason that may be and has been searching for answers by posting on the band's MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/mychemicalromance) and by contacting us (see the replies). This seriously is just stupid and should not matter whatsoever seeing as this site and anything involving a band is about the music. Maybe some of you can help elaborate that point in the replies.

But other peoples opinions are their opinions, it could be religion or just a personal belief. i think its ignorant to consider everyone to be wrong for having their own opinion. some people listen to music to relate it to their personal lives (most of us.. at this site anyways) and when a guy signs love songs about a guy it is hard to get that out of your head and relate it to yourself. at least thats what i think. its just like how some people dont like listening to girl signers, because they sign about guys. its not ignorance.

Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio has admitted in interviews to making out with guys in the past, and he's not afraid to admit it since he's comfortable with his sexuality. I was sort of shocked when I heard that, but it hasn't phased me or made me think less of him at all, and they have been my favorite band for the past four years. You shouldn't have to care about a person's sexuality.

It's not about that, though. Well, not for me personally at least. For example, I just view it as a song that has personal meaning for me. Exactly. You shouldn't let other people's interpretations of songs fuck with what the song means to you (even if it is the author of the song). And by saying that you couldn't get into a song that you *knew* was about a homosexual couple, are you saying that a homosexual person wouldn't be able to relate to a song that was written about a heterosexual relationship? You see, that doesn't make any sense at all. I, as a girl, can relate to songs Chris Carrabba has written from a male point of view. Words like "he" or "she" in a song shouldn't make a difference in whether you can relate to it or not. It's about a feeling that you get from a song.

The way I see it, saying you couldn't relate as well to a song written about a homosexual relationship is just showing how uncomfortable you are with the idea of homosexuality and that you might relate to it a little bit.
