Hey ya'll.

I am currently looking for bands that have a similar singing style to Taking Back Sunday and My Chemical Romance.

It could be mainstream or underground. I really like there music.

Would you identify TBS and MCR in one genre? If yes what? and if No what Genre music would you consider them to be in?

Thanks in advance.

hawthorne heights, man. thursday too. you'd probably like brand new, just bc u like TBS. oh and straylight run, maybe, since one of the old back up singers sings in that band. er, as for labeling, emo. MCR is a little harder to label, but they still have a healthy amount of emo-dom to them, in my opinion.

hope i helped.

Yeah, I always liked the name Sage. It means Wise Man, in Japanese. It's also a color and an herb...I don't like the color so much though.

Anyway.

I got Matchbook Romance and they are good. I have Brand New and they are good. I don't like Straylight Run, no offense but I don't like many girls singers...and I do hope that is a girl singing cause I never bothered to check.
Thursday I heard of but I totally forgot about so Ill check that out.

Thanks for your help so far but dont stop posting, I want to get a whole collection so I can isolate myself from the world and crawl in my corner and experience bliss like non-other, and Ill probably die either by overdosing on adrenaline or drowning in my tears (thats the name of a song im making so don't you dare take it! Its ( C ) 'd!!!!! :-P

If you like TBS, you'll probably like anything by Northstar and the new Underoath CD, entitled They're Only Chasing Safety.

John Nolan is the lead singer, she only sings backup.

Not trying to be mean.. but those bands really sound nothing like TBS or MCR...

I'd say Matchbook Romance, Story of the Year, Thursday, Hidden in Plain View, Hawthorne Heights, Straylight Run, Bayside, The Beautiful Mistake, The Juliana Theory, A Change of Pace, Amber Pacific, Armer for Sleep, Greeley Estates... maybe some of those?
