I'm honestly surprised that Kerry conceded, I figured he wouldn't go down without a fight.

I know, I was joking with my friends about how he should keep running negative ads on TV about Bush, even though nobody can vote anymore. Then, once Bush won, he could keep running ads like that throughout the four years that he's president, just to be a bastard.

i too am suprised. but i think i respect him more now because of it. instead of being a baby like gore was he took it like a man. it was a close race. it could have gone either way. i think he did the right thing. why make the whole country go crazy over the whole thing more like in 00? know what i mean?

well that would be respectful.
EDIT:and maybe bush should run ads saying people that voted for kerry dont count cause he lost? and other saying kerry sucks cause he lost. yea okay

Yeah I completely respect him, but there's part of me that wishes he pulled a Gore. After all that mental and psychological trauma from the recount, Gore lost his mind, grew a beard, and no longer uses his inside voice. I think if that happened to Kerry he'd be much more fun to watch.

Hahahahaha, Gore became a recluse after that whole ordeal.

Gore was a baby because he contested Florida because of miscounts and charges of voter fraud? Wow, your head is way up your ass. The man won the popular vote, and had legitimate claim to the vote in Florida. He was not being a baby, he was being pragmatic.

true on legitimacy on the first recount. but have it keep going so long is stupid. it took way too long. obviously you're democratic or at least support them and just pissed cause you just lost another election.

You are correct, I am democratic, in that I believe in the abolition of the electoral college, an outdated method which gives too much power to states like mine. However, I am not a "Democrat". Why would Democrats be the only ones upset by another four years of Mr. Fiscal Responsibility Himself, Bush? I imagine that Libertarians, Greens, Socialists, Atheists, etc. would be upset. As for what I am, I'll let you put your brain to attempting to deign that, though you probably cannot figure it out.

I think that if the numbers were the opposite putting Kerry in the lead...the republicans would not be doing what the Dems are right now and no way would Bush have conceded.

To add to that, Bush has in fact done the opposite of modern Republicans as he has expanded Government with the Department of Homeland Security and increased Federal power in several areas including Education. Just a thought.

We knew from the start where Ohio would go, as soon as they said on TV, "looks like it comes down to Ohio" - I knew the outcome. It is almost incomprehensable to think that the majority of this country would vote for this man, and this administration. The deaths, the lies, and the pushing of one's religious moral values is just disgusting to me. It is with shock that I realize the majority of this country would want to deny homosexuals the right to marry.

Okay, the whole consitutional amendment to ban gay marriage is a bit much. I understand how people want marriage to be strictly between a man and a woman and blah blah blah, although the sanctity of marriage has already been desicrated (sp?) with how seriously people take marriage these days because they don't.
The thing that I don't understand is, why don't just give gay couples the same rights as everyone else has, but call it something else...or is that what a civil union practically is?

the fact is as much as they try to separate church and state it will always be a huge part. hardcore christians believe it is against christianity and it heads up into the gov.

Ya know, until I was in the situation I currently am in, I wasn't for homosexuality whatsoever, but now that I'm experiencing what it feels like to love someone so much and to see that it really doesn't matter, it pisses me off that people of my religion are so fuckin' narrow minded. If two people love each other, let them love each other. So what if they can't make fuckin' babies. :P
I was more or less just handed and told information like this when I was younger, that's why I believe it's good to go out and research stuff for yourself and find your own answers.
