Love Me, I'm Conservative


Oh, I cried when the towers had fallen
Tears ran straight down my spine
And I cry for every lost soldier
Fighting for this freedom of mine
But the Iraqis, they got what was coming
Regardless of all of those lies

And I go to the pro-life rallies,
And loathe the N-double A-C-P
I love Jesus and guns and country
Think the lord creates us all equally
But don’t talk about rights for the gays,
That’s a different subject entirely.

I cheered when McCain was chosen,
We both support drilling offshore
And I’m glad he endorses those tax cuts-
The well-off could sure use a few more!
But when he talks about the climate a-changing,
I question science and let the earth warm.
So love me, love me, love me, I’m conservative

Oh the people in all of those cities
Should all hang their heads in shame.
Now, I can’t understand how their minds work.
Don’t they understand the problems of our day?
And we should all join the free trade game
But don’t let the Chinese come and play.

Yes, I watch O’reilly and Fox News.
How can there be any other view?
Wave the Israeli flag with Lieberman,
I feel like I’m almost a Jew.
But when it comes to things like alliances,
It’s only the Red, White, and Blue!
So love me, love me, love me, I’m conservative

And I vote for the Republican Party,
They want the military to be strong
I attended the Iraq ‘n’ Roll concerts
War sure gets me singin’ those songs!
And I swear I’m a true patriot,
So don’t dare ask me to come on along!

Sure once I was young and middle-class;
Wanted a system that cared about our health.
Even grew rich during the Clinton years,
Worked hard for my possessions and wealth.
Oh but now I’ve grown older and richer
So I’m keepin’ the money all to myself!

well, its based off of the other versions but i made it applicable to conservatives

I don't know how much of this is your own. Or how similar it is to the other versions.

But on face value, its very freaking good. I mean I'm not really a fan of political lyrics - 1. Cause I don't have a great interest in politics, and 2. Because most of the time they are written horribly.

But this is great. Has humour, a kind of tonuge in cheek way to look at things. I mean it's one sided, but I think that is the point of political songs, so I won't go into that. And the 'love me, I'm conservative' line works perfectly in each case.

But I don't know, even though I disagree with Kevin on a lot of his words, I still like the song. He's right on many things as well. It's good to hear a more radical side of one's views to carefully review one's own beliefs.

I'm not against making a version 2.0. What offended you? I mean I like my version as it is, but if you think I should change something, comment on and/or criticize it.
Nothing in particular, but it falls short where the original liberal one did as well. They generalize and focus on aspects that aren't simply across the boards. It takes the craziest examples and seems to assume they are true of all conservatives. I don't know, even though liberals can bug me reading the one about them seemed a bit much even to me. But as long as the bleeding hearts enjoy it, I honestly don't care. It does not affect me or outrage me, more annoy.
