I just got told today that the store that I work at (Steve and Barry's) is closing down because of their bankruptcy.

pros:
unlimited hours (we make our schedule)
20% raise (pay is already a few dollars above minimum wage)
Everything in the store is going to be dirt cheap to us
laid back
partyyyyyyy
my boss said I might be able to take home a full mannequin. How sick would that be!?

Cons:
Shutting down between the end of September and the beginning of January.


I need a new job when I'm done with this one.
I hate job searching.

I hate job searching so much.

I remember when I needed a new job last year it was so frustrating because I'd apply at these places and no one would call me back. and I'd call to folllow up and you can't ever talk to anyone important. the only place that did call me was a store I didn't even apply at... they took my application from another store haha.

I love my job. They stuffed up my age on the payroll, so I get payed like an adult.

All I do is sell cigarettes and read trashy mags. Simple.

I wish I got more hours, though.

haha. I had applied at victoria's secret and I didn't get the job. but its owned by the same company as bath & body works so I guess they're allowed to share applications, so I got the job there instead. I only worked there for a month though as holiday help.

Ah. Yeah that happens. This one store in the mall told me to turn in my application at a different store there and they will still get it.

ehh the working on holidays isn't too bad I suppose, not for me at least.
I'm hopefully going to be touring soonish as a tour manager, I wonder how they would take it if I asked for a few months off.

That's what I liked about steve and barry's. One of my co-worker plays in a band, and every time he asked for a few months off, it was no big deal with them at all and he kept his job.
