It's good to see Don Quixote's actually doing something productive now. Apparently he's figured out windmill's don't fight back.

of course we care...the brand new poster gives the show underground credibility (see OC/death cab) and therefore makes it ok and not at all "mainstream" or "trendy" and furthermore makes it "watchable" for even the more anti establishment teens.

Actually, no, you DON'T rock. Boo ya!
Let me think of what AP can give you for being the first one to say something of that nature. You're original like whoa.

HAHAHA! It was actually a sarcastic :gasp:
I personally prefer "The OC," but I could give less of a crap if someone prefers another show to it. Personal opinion is just that; opinion.

yeah, i was pretty sure that it was sacastic. if you had actually taken offense to his comment on the show being better than the OC, i would be very very confused. i have noticed that a lot of the time you make fun of someone by insulting their screen name though.

Anything I say on here is majority of the time just sarcasm and me being stupid 'cause people on here take themselves a little too seriously. I know it's retarded to make fun of someone's screen name hence the reason I do it. I'm pathetic and make myself laugh with my unclever wit.

I think we've posted about Death Cab hanging on his wall numerous times.

most of the time when you make fun of a screen name, i laugh myself. it's usually quite humerous. keep up the good work.

Ah, "The O.C." Finally a TV program showing how tough it is to grow up rich and white in 21st-century America.
I think we've posted about Death Cab hanging on his wall numerous times.
Ok, I guess
Not really news, but your the news poster so I guess you can post about whatever.

The O.C. is actually okay...it grows on you...then it hooks you in and you're watching every week, whether you admit it or not. And I'm sure that whoever was complaining about not having enough posts about Seth's posters on The OC will be happy tomorrow since the new season starts tonight....
Can't say I've ever seen Jack & Bobby though...
And BACK to the topic...Brand New is awesome and should get some more attention!

I have yet to see either show since i do not have cable and therefore unable to pick up on current trends. But I have seen/heard the outcome of the promotion of bands on these shows and I have to say it is uber awesome to see people noticing bands through TV as "scene" indicators of what they need to be listening to to be cool, when they should really be focusing on the bands music. I have never seen the OC or this show we are currently speaking of, maybe if i had then my opinion would be different but for now i think it is a shame how a TV show can persaude viewers what they should be listening to. I have seen examples and i dont think everyone that watches these shows are like that.

you don't need cable to get FOX. You can just buy a TV and use the internal antenae to get it.

You bring up a good point. I've (My roomates) tried and it does not work. I have a pretty old Tv or maybe its just a horrible tv i dont know and Im not going to buy a new TV to see what the OC is all about. But i should go buy one of the external atenae's and then coat my house with tin foil and then wrap some of the tin foil around my head like in the horrible movie signs to gain better reception ...but TV is not that big of a priority for me, since most stuff on TV annoyes me (maybe im ignorant). I just stick with my Ps2 and my Mr. Bean DvD Set.

Random thoughts on this topic....short and sweet
Jack & Bobby - decent show....wont make it to a second season...terrible ratings.
OC - excellent show with addictive powers similar to that of crack cocaine minus the third nostril side effects. Quality transcends unfair genre categorization that the unaware and uninformed lump it into.
Music used or mentioned on the OC and the public influence it has: minimal to moderate amount of fan base fluctuation. Phantom Planet's "California" was beat into the heads of anyone with a televions head a good 2 years after the album containing the song's release and yet the impact it had on the sales of the release of their follow-up effort was small. One could attribute this to the different sound on the new album though as well. But all that being said you didn't hear "Big Brat" on top 40 radio every hour or on TRL so the band probably avoided the sell-out label people usually unfairly slap on a band after they are vaulted a bit more in to the mainstream.
Rooney's guest star musical performance definitely helped their album sales(to the tune of about %180 or so in the weeks following their appearance) but again didn't gain them a Simple Plan-esque following because of it.
I think Death Cab for Cutie and the Shins probably got the biggest boost from the show and to be fair it was about fucking time they started getting some well deserved respect. Music like that deserves a chance to be heard by more people...
If "hardcore" fans of these bands are pissed about the exposure their beloved bands are getting because of a 'stupid tv show" they can piss off for all I care. The only thing that pisses me off more than 13 year old girls who listen to punk music because its 'the cool new thing' or 'because benji is sooo hot' is fans who turn their backs on a band they claim to have been with since the beginning or before they were big just because a you aren't the only one listening to them anymore. I have to bite my tongue everytime I see an argument about the declined quality of musical group based because of this(ie...I only like JEW before Bleed American, NFG before s/t, Blink before Enema, or STD before Stay What You Are)
