But they're not the films. Would love the actual trilogy in blu-ray. Too bad it doesn't exist.
And so would everyone. But that isn't a choice. So I'll take the 99.999% of the trilogy that does exist.

Drew Beringer

like I said it's predictable. Just because it's expected doesn't mean fans can't be upset. I won't buy this blu-ray set, I won't see the films in theaters when they are eventually shown in 3-D, and I won't see the remakes either that I'm sure Lucas would love to do. I'm done giving my money to the guy.

I would say ultimately speak w/ your wallet, tired of him making changes, then don't buy. But then again, he's filthy rich and is pretty adamant that those are his movies and he's going to do w/ them what he wants.

both parts are true. people will buy this regardless just because it's the first release on Blu.

it's gonna get re re re released or whatever it is at this point later on. you know there will be a 3d edition that comes out each year for the next 6 years. maybe by then they will change it back??

That would require him to admit that he made a mistake w/ his new additions, not sure if he's even done that for Jar Jar yet

I can see the original trilogy (or at the very least the 1994 special editions) being re-re(re?)-released on Blu Ray without the newer changes (Hayden Christensen at the end of ROTJ, these new additions). Reminds me of that Futurama episode:

Slurm Queen: As for you, you will be submerged in Royal Slurm which, in a matter of minutes, will transform you into a Slurm Queen like myself.
Glurmo: But, Your Highness, she's a commoner. Her Slurm will taste foul.
Slurm Queen: Yes! Which is why we'll market it as New Slurm. Then, when everyone hates it, we'll bring back Slurm Classic, and make billions!

Can kinda see that being the way this pans out down the line. Albeit maybe Lucas isn't intentionally pissing people off. Ha.

Am I seriously going to have to wait for Lucas to die before I can get the original trilogy in decent quality? And it sucks, too, because some of the improvements over the years have been nice (the expansion of Bespin, additional fighters in thebattle scenes of the first movie), but I'd gladly erase the few improvements to get rid of all the fuck-ups.

I saw II and III on the big screen. I'm probably in the minority but I loved those movies and still love them. This shouldn't even be a comparison. A few tweaks versus three whole movies that sucked. Three movies which could have (and should have) been a terrific addition to the Star Wars story, but ended up as garbage.

I think their work is amazing. I've never seen another review style that goes as in depth and remain accurate while an insanely gross/insane story of an old dude killing girls/hookers goes on. personally I could do with less of the gross out storylines, but at this point they are just as much a part of it as the critiquing of the movies.

did you see the Indy 4 review? or the Star Trek (2009)? the Trek one was positive and brilliant in its analysis. Indy 4 was dead on exactly why the movie sucked.

I don't get why people don't enjoy RLM more.

thesinkingship
02/09/12, 08:03 PM
Ewan McGregor is the only thing the prequels got right. Hayden and Natalie's scenes are like soap operas too which annoys the hell out of me (not to mention their acting itself is horrific).
