You know what? All the posts lately have been about we all hate the opposite party.

I am here to offer a truce. I am tired of this whole fighting thing. Frankly, at one point the Republicans DID have a right to gloat, but that time is gone now. It is time to move on. Sen. John Kerry HIMSELF asked us to stop fighting (and yes, I deeply respect him for saying that).

Whether you voted for or against Bush, he is now President. So let's make the best of the situation at hand and not pull a Fat Mike and purposely try to fuck the country. We are at war, so unity is key. For everything I have said that offended the other side, I apologize. Let's just get on with our lives in relative peace, ok?

I agree. I must say again that i highly respect democrats in that they have diffrence in opinion and are willing to speak it, but i am frustrated on the manner SOME do it by forcing thier opinion on someone or by the way they can at time ridicule others for they way the not only think but feel.

Unity is overrated. Look at how good Israel does without it!

unity isnt key at all! if the country are united in conflict then the conflict will continue. You need more protests, more speaking out and more opposition if you feel opposed to what is going on.

Disunity is the best way to disprupt it so that people dont just go along with what is happaning saying 'o well we need to stand together.'

He didn't say that. He meant he's going to call people on stupid, ignorant things. This goes for conservatives as well as liberals.

Protesting a war isn't going to change anything, it wont bring lives back, and honestly I don't think that Bush is going to pull out of any thing right now. So the best thing to do it support the troops, not the leader.
i strongly agree it doesnt matter what weather you support bush just dont let another vietnam happen. The're only following orders like you would.

uniting america means things have to change. this country is split at the seams and we cant just say 'okay well lets just forget our individual beliefs and its all good'. i agree that the country needs to unite. but it cant and wont happen under these circumstances.

and no this is not a partisan post. its the honest truth. all of us on this board have different opinions and beliefs. and its hard to unite an entire country split like that without allowing some sort of change.

You shouldn't! But there is a difference when people become bitter (not saying you are) and just add to the division in this country. All of my friends are distraught, but it will pass and they won't even think of the presidency in a month. We all have to understand that the election came and went and it's time to move on.

If you seriously want to emigrate to Canada, the process is going to take about 4 yrs anyway... I still think emigrating americans who have a genuine hatred for Republicans want to have a pity party. They shall not get one.

I don't think Bush has a mandate, but he does have a majority. And if a mandate technically requires a majority, Bush has it and no one can argue it. Like everyone is saying, Values Values Values!!!

i'm not bitter about it, it was the most likely outcome after all, a year ago bush winning was a forgone conclusion, kerry at least made it close.
i'd argue against the whole "bush mandate" but this link covers it.
