Air- talkie walkie - not their best album, but still good
Beta Band- heroes to zeros - good album
The Comas- conductor - listened a couple times, seems uneven, with a few good songs and more bad
Coldplay- a rush of blood to the head - very good, not as good as parachutes though
Death Cab For Cutie- we have the facts and we’re voting yes - good album, not their best though
Desaparecidos- read music, speak spanish - awesome
The Faint- wet from birth - good album, "erection" is crap, but the last two were better (especially blank-wave)
Get up Kids- guilt show - good album, drags near the end, I prefer On a Wire
Head Automatica- Decedance - decent, has a few brilliant songs (especially beating heart baby)
Ima Robot- (self titled) - I've don't like it, maybe it's just me
Interpol- turn on the bright lights - brilliant amazing album
Jets to Brazil- orange rhyming dictionary - good underrated band that does good pop music
Longwave- strangest thing - not bad, got a few good songs ("tidal wave" is great)
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Californication - very good album
The Secret Machines- now here is nowhere - saw them live, hated them
Sparta- wiretap scars - the better of the two full-lengths, good
Statistics- leave your name - not a bad band, could be better though
Taking Back Sunday- where you want to be - I actually like it
The Walkmen- bows and arrows - good album, not as good as everyone who pretended to like me is gone though


The Mooney Suzuki- alive and ampliphied - haven't heard an album, but the mp3s I have of them are good
Saosin- translating the name - good EP, anthony has an amazing voice
Sigur Rós - beautiful band, especially Agaetis Byrjun
Hot Cross - haven't heard anything except Cryonics and the new EP, but I love them with a passion

Whoa, album of the year? I think that's a little lofty, especially considering the year isn't over yet. Plus, I could think of 5 better albums off the top of my head.

Maybe it was a bit overstated. Even so, it still could very well be the album of the year. There was some good releases this year. Futures was good, Hot Cross came out with a nice little 6-song, so did Minus the Bear, Breather Resist put out a solid cd. What were some of your favorites?

Not to insinuate that all of those are better than the new Owen album, those are just the ones I really liked this year so far. I actually haven't given the new Owen enough of a thorough listen yet to make a judgement though.

Ive got a few tracks of Bouncing Souls- Anchors Aweigh and theyre all pretty sweet. What I've heard of Dinosaur sounds by Catch 22 is really good, and Where You Want To Be by TBS is quite the awesome.

I've heard a lot of those, not all, but a lot. Some are very good. The only ones that come close to the new Owen are Karate and The Good Life. 2004 is coming to a close so I think its safe to pick your favorite for the year, mine is Owen.
