I'll get bashed in the head for this one... but I really don't like them too much. I listened to Fevers&Mirrors a few times through... not my kind of music. What do you guys think?

Its what you think, not us. If you dont like one of his cds, the odds are you wont like the rest. But, i would say listen to "lover i dont have to love" for my fav song (or lets not shit ourselves is good too).

I love Bright Eyes. Lover I Don't Have To Love is my favorite song. I'd say he's pretty well known for that one.

I've never understood the fascination with Lover I Don't Have to Love...honestly it's probaby one of my least favorite on the new album, and I don't think it's anywhere as good as anything on Fevers & Mirrors. I just don't like that side of him I guess. I fear Digital Ash in a Digital Urn will be terrible, like laughably bad.

that's really hard to say...

They can range from the folky-story telling of The Decemberists to the really emotional rock like Cursive, to straight up pop like The Magnetic Fields. This is just the music though, his voice is fairly original (minus the fact that he ripped off David Dondero)

I like Bright Eyes. But with the songs I either really really love them, or really really hate them. There really isn't much of a compromise with me on the songs. But I obviously like most of their songs.

I love most of what I've heard.. I have Fevers and Mirroirs and love the majority of it, my favorites being:

The Calender Hung Itself
Haleigh, Haleigh, a Lie, Haleigh
Sunrise, Sunset

I also enjoy Lover I don't Have to love, and From a Balance Beam off of Lifted.

Fevers and Mirrors is the best album in my opinion, I'm not as big of a fan of Lifted as most people. Also, "The Calender Hung Itself" is my favorite Bright Eyes song.

Me neither, I think they are very overrated. The whole Saddle Creek label is. Let's smoke four packs of cigarettes, drink coffee till our heart explodes, sit in malls, and sleep in libraries... but we won't read any books while we are awake! But everyone will think we are intelligent because we hang out at libraries all the time! When infact I'm just a poor fa.ggot and I have no where to go because my rich parents kicked me out of the house.

I like them a lot. However, I wasn't a big fan of their "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" album, but I haven't listened to it very much. I do like their "Digital Ash In A Digital Urn" album a lot though.
