What are some ideas? Im 20 years old and look like im fresh out of my sophmore year in high school. Just once I would like to buy cigarettes without the cashier squinting at my ID. Thoughts?

I look my age, but I'm 6'4", and generally bigger than cashiers, so I rarely get my ID checked.

Renee

I find it flattering when people ask for my ID, it makes me feel young again. I think I look my age and I always get ID-ed (and sometimes accused of having a fake ID). The only time I don't is when one specific guy is working at my 7-11.

I agree, maybe some facial hair.

People usually guess I'm 18-19. Depending on what I'm wearing, I can pass for 20-21. When I get dressed up people think I'm much older. I'm actually 16.

I don't even think I look young at all.

So you're short?
And if you want to look older, just draw a mustache on your finger and hold it under your nose when you're paying for things. Also, talk in a low toned voice about things like stocks and mutual funds. Also compliment the day and complain about your 9-5.

then why does your profile say 18?

Usually when I am out with my younger sister, she gets asked if she's the older one.
a few months my sister and I were at our littlest sister's DARE graduation and one of the moms there came over and was talking to my mom and she asked which of us was in college. my sister was in middle school, so needless to say I was pissed. I actually got up and walked out for a few minutes.

I'm still kind of angry about it. but she's a dumbass. we were having a discussion of what a dipshit she is at the dinner table a few nights ago due to some of her more recent antics.

Ouch. I don't understand how people can confuse that much of an age difference. My sister is 16, so she's only 3 years younger than me. I still don't understand how they think she's older when I am the one with a piercing and tattoo. *shrugs*

yeah, my sister's about three inches taller than me. and I will say that she does look a little older than her age, but definitely not to that extreme. to me, she has that definite fourteen year old girl style. you know when you see girls like that.. with their makeup extremely overdone and by what they're wearing you can tell they're somewhere around that age.

haha. that's cute. I might have to steal that. they really do and I don't get it. I was going somewhere yesterday afternoon and I drove through downtown on my way to the freeway and I made the mistake of stopping at Cold Stone to get a shake. school had just gotten out so it was crawling with high school kids and it took FOREVER, but I saw so many girls who were prime examples of this. I hate when people do that. I'm actually always really careful about guessing people's ages because I don't want to offend anyone with that, and I think it's just annoying when people think you're younger than you are (except for of course when you actually do get old, then I'm sure it's great.) I work with kids and when I meet them and ask how old they are, I always guess that they're a grade older than what I actually think. always works for me.

I try to do that too, because I know what it feels like to be told that i look really young. I hate when people think im like 13 just because im vertically challenged and have a babyface. I guess itll be better when im older, but thats far in the future.

i'm 4 11" and it sucks, let me tell you. it's not like i can wear heels either because they don't come in anything smaller than a 5. buying sneakers is okay cause i can buy cheap ones, but anything remotely dressy is torture. plus, being in the grocery store and having to ask someone to get things off of the shelf for you is really embarrassing. plus, kissing tall people is a chore.

Haha I'm only about 2.5 inches taller than you. I'm only a 6/6.5 and often those are too big but ouch, that does suck. My brother is 5'11" so I just make him grab everything for me but I work in a library and have to shelve books high up all the time which is a huge pain in the ass to constantly have to drag around a stool. And I feel your pain on the kissing thing considering pretty much everyone is a tall person from down here.

Just tell him you have to be 18 to get tattoos, then roll up your sleeves.

That has yet to work. And I have at least six tattoos on both arms. And its not about getting carded. Its just shitty lookin like a 16 year old.

I'm 6' and 190 lbs so I rarely (I have twice) get carded for butts.

don't even worry about trying to look younger.
but if it disturbs you that much, then i agree, to grow some facial hair. :)

there's a kid in my class (8th), and he has a moustache. it creeps the hell out of me. :) be grateful?
