is a post rock band in the vein of explosions in the sky or from monuments to masses but instead of being another one of those twinkly boring bands people are still into for some reason, they often incorporate moments of math rock and play around with noise a bit. they're about to tour with don caballero.

band is also pro-me getting drunk in churches, so that's a plus.

i saw that, i wish i could go, but thursday's we practice, and we're playing with some band from columbia the next day so i can't go. lucky you though, i heard lemp is an awesome place to play from some friends. you all should definitely try and make a trip down here sometime when you have the time, because i still think your set was the highlight of day one of the fest which is about the only day i remember because we played day two and that was a disaster.

not a huge fall of troy fan... I have their self-titled debut... which is ok, but a little much in some sections.... Conor and Jacob are bigger into them.

My algernon cadwallader demo still hasn't come! I'm kinda pissed.

The new Sigur Ros, Cult of Luna, Algernon Cadwallader, Portishead, and A Silver Mt. Zion are probably my favorites of 08. This week I've been listening a lot to Giraffes? Giraffes!, Lifestory: Monologue, Cap'n Jazz, Steve Reich, This Town Needs Guns, Omar Rodgriguez-Lopez, and Johnny Foreigner which I discovered this morning and have fallen in love with.

i just got my copy of frame and canvas and it sounded great. right now i'm just running through an old pioneer turntable stereo thing my grandparents gave me that's rigged up to basically every speaker i could find including some sweet tube speakers, and my computer's surround sound. it's not optimal by any means, but i do what i can with it.
