November 7th at the Starland Ballroom in dear ol' downtown Sayreville, New Jersey. No Warning, The Bronx, The Bled and The Used will take the stage. My friends and I stayed on the main floor the entire time. Right up front for every band. Each band I saw was a first time seeing for me. It was kick ass stuff.
No Warning - Wow...words cannot express how much I liked these guys. This was the first time I've heard them so i didnt know what to expect. They took the stage with such excitement and energy. The lead singer definately knew how to work the crowd. Of all the things I remember though, some big guy kicking some other guys girlfriend, and a brawl almost went down. The peacekeepers got to them though...was quite funny.
The Bronx - To be honest I wasnt really feeling these guys that much. It was a first time hearing them as well. So again, I didnt know what to expect. The whole thing just didn't appeal to me I guess. Theyre a very talented band, dont get me wrong, but yea. The singer had an amazing scream though. That took me by storm. They had this little interlude with just the singer holding out these almost 30-40 second screams. Thats a long time if you really think about it (maybe I exaggerated a bit, I wasnt exactly timing it) It was quite amazing.
The Bled - Yet again, another band I had never heard before. Although I HAVE heard OF them, I never took the time to check them out. But they are amazing. Right up front all i saw were these three guys with massive hair like mine, and at first I was like "Hey, my hair..." Then I realized theyre kooler than me and that I had no room to talk lol. So all the while I'm listening and jumping around, with the sounds of all these HUGE fans screaming the words I didnt know in my ear. It was great. I loved it! lol. They were a very talented group. Their music was great, and obviously had a decently large fan base. I think I nearly saw death during their performance (Then again, I'm the dumbass that wears a hoody to a show thats bound to be over 100 degrees once everyones packed together) The singer really knows how to work a crowd. And the band overall was just great.
THE USED - "MAKE SOME FUCKIN' NOISE NEW JERSEY!!" as Bert enters the stage from my left. It was about time, it took them what seemed like an eternity to get onstage. Ask anyone there, and theyll tell you they were pissed (mainly due to the heat). But then again, theyll also tell you it was WELL worth the wait. Quinn walks onstage wearing a Richard Nixon mask, as the Intro to 'Take It Away' starts up. This is wear I really got pumped. "GET DOOWWN!!" Bert screams the first words and all of a sudden everyone that was in the back of the room wanted to be up front. It was a tidal wave of people. The crowd was totally into it. A few kickass songs pass. And all of a sudden Bert asks "How many of you came here with a best friend tonite?" The crowd cheers "Put your arm around your friend, give them a hug, give them a kiss." Then out of nowhere, Bert and Quinn start making out hardcore. Sorry if I ruined anything for any Used fans out there. I thought it was pretty kool that they were able to do that and not give a shit. I highly doubt theyre gay though. So then a few more songs pass. and im about to pass out. I crowd surf to the front, where somebody punches me in the balls. And get a drink. Their last song was Maybe Memories. And it KICKED ASS! Sorry i didnt go into more depth with this i Really wouldve liked to. but im pressed for time at the moment. The Show was GREAT. I encouratge any non used fans out there to become engaged. Later monkeys.
