View Full Version : Tell Her Not To Change A Thing

She’s never been shy.
Wins at nearly everything she will try,
even when it means she might die.
And she never sees the need to cry.
But her humor’s always dry.
And her remarks always wry.
She’ll look you in the eye,
she will always reply
but only she will know why she implies.

Never felt the need to run.
What’s done is done.
In her eyes, that’s been proven.

For years her glasses have glistened
but that’s the only way she has myopic vision,
tell her never to change a thing.
She knows exactly what she wants to be,
And no one can tell her differently.

Not too good at talking smack,
but instead will get you with a wisecrack.
Drives her brother’s old hatchback,
always teased by the girl of the quarterback,
but will always find a comeback.
When her father lost all their money at the racetrack,
she was there to pick up the slack.
Never cares when she’s verbally attacked,
for her it’s just another setback,
she’ll respond slyly and still not be late for class.
And even through all that,
she still finds the time to laugh.

No one would consider her a friend,
no one wants to be with her till the bitter end.
There’s only a short list of people she’s managed not to offend,
but a shorter list of who she hasn’t gotten the chance to defend.
All those chances she rode till the end,
and yet there seems to be a trend,
where everybody just pretends,
that it never happened,
that she doesn’t exist,
that she just blends
in with the crowd, in with their friends.
Even though she’s nice, even though she’s one of the best,
She’s still social suicide to befriend.

And yet she’s never felt the need to run.

For years her glasses have glistened
but that’s the only way she has myopic vision,
tell her never to change a thing.
She knows exactly what she wants to be,
And no one can tell her differently.

She’s the girl everyone fears,
the voice you hope never reaches your ears,
the girl you hope never appears,
the one you’ve hidden from for years.

She challenges your curriculum,
she doesn’t care if she’s the victim,
she doesn’t care about your wisdom,
she’s one of a kind and proud of it.

Tell her not to change a thing.

Just a random song I wrote. I was bored, so I typed words into a rhyming dictionary website and used as many as would fit.
