SNES had Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3 (6 if we are going by what it was in Japan), Earthbound, and the first Mario Kart.

SNES, hands down.

SNES is my favorite system all time. Im an old school RPG fan and the Super Nintendo days were easily the golden age of role-playing games.

Damn, you've got me there with that list. You should add Banjo Kazooie to that. I found it excellent.

I am still going to go with SNES though because I always find myself digging out that system when I feel like having a blast from the past. I guess I am lame like that.

SNES. Most of my favorite games were made for that system. N64 was great, but didn't have very many RPG's.

SNES had so many brilliant games. Chrono Trigger, A Link To The Past, Final Fantasy III, Super Metroid, Earthbound, Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG, Donkey Kong Country... such classics.

I remember getting my N64 for xmas and how groundbreaking it was, but SNES is what it's all about.

God, I was one of those people stuck between these two in the last thread... Shit... Ummm... On the one hand, SNES has Mario RPG, Super Mario World, and DK Country... But N64 has Mario 64, Majora's Mask, and Banjo Kazooie. Based on playing time alone, since I can't judge the systems based only on my personal game library, I'm gonna have to go with N64, by the absolute narrowest of margins... God I can't even be happy with myself right now...

I can totally understand people disliking that game, the time travel thing and all the masks isn't for everyone, but it's still probably my favorite Zelda game, Twilight Princess is pretty close though. Mind you, I never finished Link to the Past, and I haven't played the original in years...

You really need to play Earthbound. I've heard (from my brother, mostly) that it's hard to get a copy of it. But me, being the dork I am, have a copy and the official nintendo power stratedgy guide.

I think it's supposed to end up available on the Wii's Virtual Console, but I haven't lurked for information on what's coming to that for ages. For all I know, it could already be available.

He was born in 1992, meaning that he was 4 years old when the N64 was released. By the time he reached the age of being able to play video games, the SNES was long gone.

How the hell could anyone consider the 64 a better system over the SNES? The SNES is the single greatest system ever. You can't convince me otherwise. Based off of sheer volume of games and amount of classics, I don't trust anyone who says otherwise.

Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG, Super Metroid, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (best Zelda EVER), Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy VI, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Donkey Cong Country, Mega Man X, F-Zero, Star Fox, Pilotwings, Uniracers, Street Fighter II: Turbo, Shadowrun, Earthworm Jim, and Contra III.

The only thing it lacked was great sports games really, but thankfully I had a Sega Genesis at the time as well. Nintendo has always been bad at sports games though, so that's cool. Even when the 64 was out, Sega Dreamcast was wiping the floor with them in terms of sports games.

Those who say otherwise we need to spend some time getting to know the SNES. It's worth your time.

yet he is saying that the original final fantasy (which came out in 1990 before he was even born) is better than the SNES ones.

Then I am super lame because the only console I have in my dorm room is SNES. My vote however goes to N64. The N64 stays at home.

I've only had an SNES since recently. I played it as a kid at friends and familys houses but it was the Sega at home, then later the 64.

Started out with a Nintendo Entertainment System. Had original Legend Of Zelda, golden cartridge!!! My brother sold all of it for a genesis (pretty shitty system compared to NES). Barely played it. Brother sold genesis for N64. Loved that, but my friend had an SNES and I love rpgs so I will have to go with SNES in that respect. Though when it comes to multiplayer and Zelda I would have to go with n64

64. Banjo Tooie, the Donkey Kong game whose name escapes me (I remember it had a bunch of random characters, like Lanky), both Pokemon Stadiums, and a whole bunch of others basically made the game-playing portion of my childhood.

Not that playing Mario on my aunt's SNES wasn't fun, too... I miss the 90's. :/
