I agree. I liked them with Phil alot though. The whole pop metal thing is getting old, and alot of their songs sound just like the Used. If I wanted to hear the Used, I'd listen to a Used cd. It almost seems like black t-shirts with hot pink, black hair (blood or banana streak in the excessively long bangs optional), girl pants, and a few screams grants you unquestionable talent to some people.

Great energy live. Sonny goes nuts, and its a treat just to see the drummer spit his game on stage.

My fave two on the CD are The One Armed-Boxer vs. The Flying Guillotine and Note to Self...Featuring Some of Your Favorite Words gets a strong third.

I think one problem with the band is that they "hide" some of their better lyrics in their verses, and one the guitars are crissin' and crossin' they got lost. Not bad if you listen closely, but it can hurt for the first-time listener.

And I'm pretty sure the background singer can sing.

My venue was quite small and up-close, and the crowd went crazy for them, so when you put those 2 together, you get a fucking fun show. Sonny would come up to each kid in the front row and give them the mic and grab their hair and sing right in there faces, he was awesome. I love when singers interact with the crowd. They were just one fun show.
