View Full Version : Really Lame Day, Say Nice Things...

Basically, I got called in to work on my day off (I know, boohoo, whatever), and don't feel like posting in the more opinionated threads. Just came to chill and post. Say what you want...

You're a good guy. Sorry you got called in. Happens to me sometimes and it makes me want to strangle people all day. Fuck.

Yea the worst thing is when I have to deal with people. I work at a CVS pharmacy at the cash register, and it has really destroyed my view of people. I figure as soon as school's done, I'll find a job where I can deal with coworkers and avoid the random assholes that come into my store...

That's because you sleep with co-workers.

Oh zing! you caught me! wow! i didn't know dating someone who used to work at my job is considered horrible! oh no!!!! a relationship!!! crap i'm a whore.
It actually wasnt meant in a nasty way. Sorry if it came across that way. If i was sleeping with co-workers, I would love my job too.

Say nice things... You're dating someone who used to work with you, or you used to date someone who worked with you? Sorry, but I'm sort of out of it and easily confused. Either way, that'd be pretty cool, especially since you'd get to see them a lot; my last relationship involved phone conversations and awkward silences, so... Anyway, I wouldn't ever date anyone from my job, not because I'm against it, but because no one at my job is at all appealing to me.

yeah we've been dating since may and he just quit so i guess now it can be legit.
Bobby Tucker
08/31/08, 09:55 PM
Yea, I can feel that. Cool guy?

Yeah I mean I'm a girl, I could go on and on about him but I won't. I'll just say I haven't been this happy in a long time.

Good for you... happiness is a good thing. IDK, I guess maybe I'm just sort of put off by everything because I'm in a rut: all I do is school and work. I really can't say I've met anyone appealing since my last relationship, and even if I did, it's not something I can see myself making time for. Not out of lack of interest, more out of lack of resources (i.e. time and energy). Maybe it's just cause my last relationship sucked so bad... Whatevs, not gonna be depressing and make other people deal with it. Let's have good times now...

What kind of job do u have that u like so much? Do u deal with people, or not so much?

i work at abercrombie. hahaha.

That's cool enough, u probably get to chill in a mall a lot (not on the clock of course, ;-) ). I would probably like that better simply because you have a particular demographic that shops there, I mean, the kind of customers you get comes with the territory. The worst part about where I work is that its in the fringe between a white trash area and a very well to do community, so I get really gross people with missing teeth and beer bellies, and very impatient snobs, pretty much back to back. Then again, I really can't say that u only get a certain group. just a guess really...

hahah well, i don't do anything at my job sooo i guess that counts as being able to chill at the mall. we have to pay for parking though which is a bitch but i make enough where it doesn't matter much. we get a lot of trashy people, and people who buy our clothes to sell in their country (asia, mexico) and we get a lot of people who really have no clue what the hell abercrombie is.

Trashy people are probably the worst. I can understand impatient, sometimes CVS may not be the fastest operator in retail, but trashy people are just disgusting. I am a guy and have problems tolerating people scratching their stomachs or picking their ears in public. What kind of mall do u work at where u have to pay for parking?

I had to work 6-7 hours for the last 4 days at my job.
I work at a clothing store that's about to close down. You have noooo idea how lazy people can get until you work at a place like that.
The only good thing is, my work let me take home a 10 foot poster with Amanda Bynes in a swimsuit on it. I wonder how much it will go on ebay for...

I told my employer I was going to Vegas all weekend for my birthday. Really, I just don't want to work on the busiest weekend of the year.

I used to get called into my old job so much. and if I worked in the morning I'd get suckered into staying all day. I made so much money back then though lol.

I'd be so happy if labor day weekend was our busiest of the year, unfortunately we get absolutely raped the week of thanksgiving and Christmas. What kind of job is it? I just can't imagine a retailer with labor day as its busiest weekend...

When I worked at Macys, I got called in 80% of the time. Then, I'd come in, and go over hours (which my bosses knew I would if I came in) and the my bosses would yell at me for saying "yes" to their demands too often.
I've heard often that working for Macys is like working for the Walmart of department stores. In fact, the people who work at Walmart in town here made more money than I did.
Thank god I quit!

I actually went to work today to escape being at home. I didn't have to and I really don't have any work to do, it was just that everyone I hung out with last night got into a shouting match with each other and everyone who wasn't involved is busy until later tonight. At least no one is here and I can just kind of chill with no one bothering me with the pesky "work" aspect of my day.

Do we really? I'm kind of new so I wouldn't know. I can't tell if that was sarcasm or not, haha.

Well, I mean, we get paid time and a half, so for your seven and a half hour shift you'd get paid for eleven hours and fifteen minutes, roughly. But, there was a bit of sarcasm, I really don't get paid enough at my store...
