That statement made no sense at all. You first said that if you did not like the band before this album, it won't change your mind. You then proceeded to say they will get a bunch of new fans. How will they get new fans if all the people who didnt like the band in the first place never change their minds? But anyway, congrats to the band, I'm really satisfied with the cd :)

i never liked relient k even though i liked what they stood for. they had a ton of talent musically but i never got into them singing songs about saturday morning cartoons or blatant praise songs. I'm Christian, but they always gave me a weird vibe. The new cd, though, is a ton more mature lyrically and call pretty much satisfy the needs of whoever's listening to it. Religions there, but it's not too in your face if you don't want it to be, and there are really no cheesy filler songs. This is one of the biggest maturation cd's i've heard in a long time.

hmm...has someone been listening to mitch hedberg??

I like that you use a quote about drugs as the title for a post on a christian band.

I was going to call the Mitch Hedberg quote out, but you beat me too it. Anyways, it's an awesome cd. Probably in my top 5 for the year actually. I love this band.

liked the band members and the live show, disliked the first albums. i think christian artists, if they are trying to praise who they believe in, should push their music creativity to the limits. no lame lyrics, no generic sound, no settling for mediocrity, but develop something with meaning. whether relient k pulled this off is debatable, but i think they finally put out an album that competes with anything else out there. i like it, and i'm glad people are listening.

It's spelled "bunch." When you misspell a word that easy twice, you really need to be told so..

Congrats to RK. This album is good enough to take them far.

100th post!

I can't wait to get the cd, I'm still waiting to get it in the mail, because I went to one of their release shows, so the cd was included in the price, but I'm sure it takes a long time for them to send so many cds out through the mail.

I'm not Christian, but the immature songs were what shyed me away from Relient K. They've always had some good songs on each CD ("Forward Motion," "Trademark," and "I Am Understood?"), but others that were completely idiotic ("Chapped Lips...," "Mood Rings," and "Gibberish").

That's what's different about "MMHMM." The band found maturity. The only song with eye-rolling lyrics is "Mantain Consciousness," and after a few listens even it has grown on me (especially the last long guitar riff). The song breaks down at the end and is, to me, very much NoFx-ish (it really reminds me of "Dinosaurs Will Die"). Anyway, I'm really satisfied with this CD and the way this band has developed. It's been almost all I've listened to since it arrived in the mail.
