I just decided to make a live dvd of my band. We're and acoustic band. It'll take place in my basement living room. Have some friends over, add some lights, have two cameras rolling, and a friend operating an mbox 2 hooked up to a mixer so as to accompany all instruments.

My question is...

What should I invest in when it comes to cameras? And what's the easiest way to edit the footage with the music?

I've never done anything like this before so if anyone has any hints, trick, warnings, anything... let me know.

thanks

Also, does anyone have any ideas involving little things to add i.e for one song we're going to add a bouncing ball, for s and g's. Any ideas would be awesome.

Cameras can definitely get pricey, especially if you want high quality footage. Look around online and see what you can find (and figure out what you really want). As far as the editing process, the easiest way to do this would to get a program that will allow you to roll multiple videos at the same time. If the cameras are constantly rolling it shouldn't be too hard to line up the audio and video, then you just cut out the shots you don't want. Sorry this isn't horribly helpful, but hopefully it helps a little!

I'm not looking for professional quality, just something that would be enjoyable for the viewer. Nothing extravagant.

Any ideas as far as a program that would allow multiple videos at the same time?

Or should I just go for one camera?
