Alright dudes, I've been listening to a TON of music this week, so here it comes.
Pedro the Lion (http://pedrothelion.com) - People can talk all day about Brand New's lyrics, or Straylight Run's lyrics, but when it comes down to it for me - I'd take Pedro any day. Simply the best lyrics of any band I've ever listened to. Listen to Magazine for incredible lyrics and amazing drumming. Pedro is just guitar and drums, and if you need to start with one album check out Control.
My Getaway (http://www.purevolume.com/mygetaway) - This band messaged me the other day, and I checked out there PV page. Man, was I suprised. These dudes are 17 years old and write awesome power emo-rock. Give it a listen and keep an eye out for this band.
Bayside (http://baysiderocks.com/index1.html) - How underrated is this band? Dark, heavy infectious rock with great hooks. It's also full of super dark lyrics (think Park). Their full length album is something not to be missed.
The Who - Don't forget about this band. If you never heard them, change that. Start with listening to the song "Baba O'Reily" (commonly mislabled as Teenage Wasteland). I have not been able to get them out of my head all week.
The Faint (http://www.thefaint.com/news/) - I'd actually never heard this band until our newest staff member Brandon introduced me to them. Crazy weird dance synth rock, get off your ass and dance.
Bright Eyes (http://brighteyes.com) - The new Digital Ashes full length is freakin' incredible. Not much else I'll say about this, but you all definitely have something to look forward to in 2005...
3 (http://www.thefamily3.com/) - Uh, wow. This band is like...Coheed and Cambria meets Tool. It's weird, catchy, and insanely talented. Several songs show incredible guitar solos, or bass lines. It's really something to check out.
Daphne Loves Derby (http://daphnelovesderby.com) - After seeing this band live...SIGN THEM NOW. Their drummer was so tight and in-sync, great melodies, great live show, just awesome music. Another awesome Seattle band...
A few other things to recommend. Everyone should be watching The O.C., because last week's episode was back to the glory days. Witty, funny, and fresh...man, I love that show.
Everyone should also go see the Incredibles - it very well might be the best Pixar film yet. Absolutely hilarious.
Finally, you should all go check out Leetcore Clothing (http://leetcore.com) for all your 1337 n00bz0r clothing needs. Funny and cheap shirts...peep it.
