I'll definately be picking up the Western Front soon...but yeah, I understand what you're saying about it. It's definately an acquired taste. I can't help it if some songs are really addictive though.

Thanks for being nice about it. I love the lyrics, I was writing them out on my walls, I just couldn't cope with the singing enough to get use to it.

Thank jeebus for NicoleC. I bought this CD from smartpunk.com based upon her recommendation and I couldn't be happier. This album amazed me in very much the same way Deja Entendu did. The more you listen the more you become absorbed. Please do not base your decision on whether or not to buy this CD on Cassie's review. While ap.net's reviews are usually fairly insightful and in most cases pretty accurate, I feel this one was way off the mark and not representative of the level of relative expertise I've come to expect from this site. I wholeheartedly agree with her comments on the lyrics. But what she said about the singer's voice is absurd. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but in this case it's wrong. It's so refreshing to hear a vocalist actually sing with that thing called "emotion," something that seems to have been replaced in the wake of the auto-tune hysteria. If you have any doubts about this singer's capabilities listen to the mini-song at the end of #4. It's beautiful. Or check-out charcoal suits on purevolume. Also, the review claimed the album was just a "typical guitar bass drum setup" but she then went on to name a slew of atypical instruments on the album that apparently “didn't fit.” Contradictory much? This band has taken several giant leaps in the way of creativity and away from the typical mainstream, over-produced, polished to a shine, boring as hell punk. Some of the best moments on this album are the times when the western front gets experimental because they do it so well and still manage to keep melody on the forefront. I haven't met one person who bought this CD who doesn't love it. Definitely be sure to check them out. Because why would I lie to you?
