anyone have any ideas re: this?
all i've heard so far are SOundwave: Poison the Well, HORSE the band, Valencia (60+ acts promised and up to 9 stages.)
and BDO: Neil Young (wtf).

Did you go to the Sydney Soundwave this year?
The entry set up was a joke. Funneling all those people into a little gate. We arrived at about 12:30 and the queue was about 5000 deep. I walked all the way around the perimeter of Sydney Park to try to find another entry to no avail.
I saw about 5 occasions were the police had stopped a group of young people and were dumping out bottles of beer and pre-mixed drinks. By the time I got back to the line, the people I was with already were in. This is about 1pm. After 1 hour waiting in line I was geting fed up so when a group of 5-10 security guards started pushing through the crowd waving their VIP passes, I grabbed on to one of the guys shoulder and pushed through the crowd with them. I explained my plight to him and he said "shut up,be cool".
I ended up missing The Starting Line who I really wanted to see.
na i went to the one in perth. though there was a similar problem there.
they had it at this place called bassendean oval which they play footy on. the line stretched halfway around the perimeter. it was insane. and the day was unbelievable hot! was probably in line for an hour at least! and then they had this under 18 line which was so small and they could just walk right in practically. it seems the organisers made a mess of it everywhere.
though they did have some quality bands playing.
i was happy i got to see all the bands i wanted to. i saw madina lake, sugarcult, mae, cartel, thursday, motion city, offspring, saosin. i do regret not seeing alexisonfire and my american heart though.
it was too hot for me when alexis were playing and id just seen 5 bands before them and didnt see my american heart because i was just too exhausted.

The only thing good about this year was mewithoutYou and Thursday from what I can remember.
Straylight Run is good, the rest suck.

you didnt think offspring were good? while it was dissapointing they played alot of new songs and that it was clearly obvious just how much better thier old material is, i thought they were good.

I went to Soundwave this year and it was dope! I think I'll probably go to next year's too. As for BDO, I don't think I'll go. Neil Young is cool though.

The entry set up for sydney this year was an absolute joke! and did anyone see that satelite dish take some poor soul out? ambos and shit rocked up. it was a good day it was just poorly organised, hopefully theres a vast improvement for 09. i would liek to see the following bands on the lineup: Say Anything, A Day To Remember, Blessthefall, Chiodos

jimmy eat world, lamb of god, underoath, gallows, in flames, lacuna coil, every time i die, poison the well, saves the day, alkaline trio, new found glory, unearth, chidos, silverstein, hellogoodbye, rival schools, i am the avalance, moneen, 36 crazyfists, devildriver, evergreen terrace, cancer bats, from first to last, in this moment and say anything
other bands rumourd:
the audition, ace enders, cute is what we aim for, valencia, Horse The Band, Houston Calls, Straylight Run, lost prophets, Apocalyptica,Fear Before The March of Flames, in flames.
Don't hold me to all of those though.

not confirmed. but the person who posted it on my myspace posted the line-up last around this time last year before it was all confirmed and he was right last year so i'd say it is.

As far as I've heard, no one has actually been confirmed for Soundwave. On the official Soundwave myspace/website, they have several rumoured bands coming but no-one confirmed. Rumoured are: Lacuna Coil, Horse the Band, Poison the Well, Houston Calls, Straylight Run, The Audition, Ace Enders, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Valencia, Goldfinger.
I think whatever the lineup, I'll be going.
In regards to last year's Soundwave, it was good, but organisation was a bit weak. Like the Sydney stint, Perth had a huge line funnelling into two tiny entrances! What also cheesed me off was no free water. I spent $60 just keeping myself hydrated. Ridiculous.

Lacuna Coil, Horse the Band, Poison the Well, Houston Calls, Straylight Run, The Audition, Ace Enders, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Valencia, Goldfinger are the only ones that have been announced so far.
While some of those bands you mentioned may be there the list is false.
Oh, and about the 60 bands, the person who runs soundwave announced that so I doubt it's wrong.

BDO sucks. why couldnt they reschedule those tix. soundwave is so much better!
1st two album's were awesome i thought, last 3 were terrible at best.
the more the guitarist tried to get into the singing position, the less good they were
trio were good at leeds this year, not the best i've seen them, but were ok
i saw soad once. i dont even really like them but i found myself in prime realestate in the moshpit two rows back from the front! awesome!
alkaline are my fav band ever and ive only seen them once before so im really excitd about seeing them again

at what stage did you see them??
i saw them on the from here to infirmary tour before leeds, i think thats why i didnt think much of the leeds set, how can you compare to them playing at that point of their career

they actually put on a pretty good show actually.
i saw them when they were touring crimson a couple years ago.
yeah that would have been a fantastic point in time to see them. the only thing about seeing them when they were touring crimson is they inevetibley played lots off that album. though they did play a good selection i thought.
