Anyways......anyone watch the premiere? Thoughts?

I liked it quite a bit, but never watched the old show....might be missing some of the story line because of that...but so far I really like Annie and Silver....

I agree, it was a lot for just the first episode. I did like that they incorporate old characters with the new quite a bit. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. I'll be watching.

wow...NO comments on EITHER thread from tonight's episode....that must mean it is really gonna tank. I like the show, but tonights episode seemed kinda weak....I LOVE silver but the storyline just seemed too shallow for how big of a problem it really is..maybe it will get deeper with time

I don't think they handled her storyline as well as they should have. Like, it shouldn't have been revealed for at least two more episodes... It was obvious that something was up with her mom, but still, it was talked about and solved in about 15 minutes... that's just poor writing.

Last night's episode was just eh. Everything was so obvious. Although, I've got to say that the episode has made me want to go bowling or something. Haha.

For someone who holds the original as one of their favorite shows (well, seasons 1-7 since after that it was unwatchable), this series should be kept separate from the 90210 name. Kelly having a child is a mistake. They're obviously dancing around who the father is until they can either sign Jason Priestley or Luke Perry to reprise their roles which is annoying. Changing the Peach Pit into a coffee shop is a disgrace and something that defies any logic. Having Kelly's mother go back to drinking is pathetic. She hadn't had a drink since the first few episodes of the original series and yet after all this time she's back to it again? And how many times can the Mel cheating on his wife storyline be re-used?

I had already pretended that the original series ended after they graduated from college but if they fail to have Kelly mention Steve/Donna/David/Janet that will cause this show to lose more credibility.

I will say that I like the current "Walsh family" except that they lazily used the Ryan/O.C. angle except that it's a black guy instead. If this show was marketed without the 90210 name I think more people would like it. Using it though most people compare it to the original which will be untouchable. You're never going to match the cast chemistry, fan craze, storyline originality, and uniqueness of that show. Now, not only are people comparing it to the original but they're comparing it to the O.C. and other bad 90210 ripoffs that have come out since.

Yeah the drama is really intense for it being the first season. Makes me think it'll die out quick bc they won't have anything other conflicts going on. But I currently love it. :D

I understand that people think the drama started too quickly in the first episode. But it was actually a double episode (hour and a half).. And I think they really wanted to start off strong to get viewers into it. They were probably worried it would be a swing and a miss. So far though, after 9 episodes I really like all the characters. Drama could ease up a bit, cause I think you are right, it could die out quickly, but I guess we'll just have to keep on watching to find out. I hope they don't blow it after one season. Episode 10 looks like shits going to get even more fucked.

My sister was telling me that Niomi is going to invite Jason (Annie's ex) to her 16th birthday to get back at Annie for seeing Ethan. I wanna know what the fuck is going to happen with the undercover cop and the dealers.. I was not expecting Adrianna to hook up with Nivede either. Haha

lol I caught onto this show after Gossip Girl got super stale. I'm now 14 episodes into the first season, and it's so far, so good. The characters are still real people with real objectives and real problems, and not (yet) parodies of themselves.

Also, I have the biggest crush on Jessica Stroup. She kind of reminds me of Megan Fox (who I can't stand), but way less trashy looking.

Adrianna definitely, she's the most complex character on the show. And she can be absolutely stunning in the right scenes.
