I would think that if you want a band to play a certain song during a show ....you would at least know the name of the song. I went to see Static Lullaby last week. It was pretty damn funny to hear random screams like "Play track 4," "Play track 7," and "Track 1."
Ok I'm done.

I thought this was gonna be about how people mislable songs like on Soulseek or Kazaa. Or how they don't know the name. Like when people play that Coheed and Cambria song they don't know the name of it. And I just got it stuck in my head.

My roommate is terrible with the entire not knowing the names of songs. I'll be playing some Fall Out Boy and he'll yell out me to play "that song where the guy tries to sing like a girl at the end". He's talking about Saturday, he's also an idiot, but hey, that's what roommates are for.

Yeah...that is why you just smack those people if possible.
I also thought this was going to be about something different...but, this does annoy the hell out of me.

At least your roommate doesn't listen to Three Days Grace and hip hop. Oh yeah I have to forgive him tho, he's from a town of a thousand.

That's the same situation I'm in, except take away the hip hop and throw in stuff like Creed, Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd, Matchbox 20 - basically all those rock bands that have the same annoying vocal style.

A lot of people I know don't know name titles. Sometimes I do that because when I buy a cd I bring it straight to my car and I never have time to learn the song titles.

Matchbox 20 is amazing and no where near compare to Creed or any of those bands. Rob Thomas is an amazing lyricist. Write that down. :wink3:

I think the problem, is that you were at a Static Lullaby show. You can't expect much from the intelligence of a crowd attending a show like that.

When i went to see The Living End, this chick next to me goes 'i'm gonna flash that guy' (pointing to Chris Cheney) she then tries to get his attention, fails, and goes to me 'whats his name?' So i tell her and she yells out at him then pulls her shirt up... I thought that was pretty pathetic, if you're gonna flash someone, at least be a legitimate fan of theirs!

I actually own their first cd. But this roommate plays them to death and likes so much other terrible stuff that he's caused me to not like them very much. I already wasn't that huge of a fan in the first place.
It's funny. He'll tell me to check out some band and I'll be super reluctant to listen to them or give them a chance just because it's coming from him. It seems weird, but you'd understand if you lived with this kid for the past couple years. If me and my other friends hear some terrible rock song, there's a very good chance that he likes whatever group made it.

Oh mine too. And then the kid down the hall comes in and says "you have such good taste in music" and another tells me how cool it would be to go to a Three Days Grace concert. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Haha. My roommate will always ask me if I've gotten these new cds that I obviously would never like because he never downloads stuff on his own computer, he just tries to get us to do it and then have us send them to him. So he'll come by and say "oh did you get the new Alter Bridge cd?" or "have you heard the new Ryan Cabrera cd?" I'll stare at him blankly, say "why on earth would I have that" and then he'll say "oh, it's/they're awesome you should really get it." He tries to get me to download this crap all the time so he can have us transfer it to him because he's either scared of getting caught or getting his computer jacked from all the supposed adware or viruses that come with downloading programs. Whatever. It's annoying. But I haven't downloaded anything in a while now, so I've gotten him off my back. He's going to have to pay for that crap now.

Oh yeah, and I didn't realize there were so many people here that liked Matchbox 20. I'm not one of them, but if you do that's cool. I was just surprised that that many people jumped up right away to defend them.

I was talking to my best friend about JEW - Clarity today, but I just said Clarity and she was all "Oh! I love them, they're awesome! I think I've heard a few of their songs.... cool!" And I just kind of looked at her funny and said "It's a CD, not a band....."

My friend is really into Taking Back Sunday, but he doesn't know the song titles of the life of him. I'll kill him the next time he says "Deja Etendu (no "n").
