Last night at the Punchline (http://www.punchkids.com), Bayside (http://www.baysiderock.com), Hawthorne Heights (http://www.hawthorneheights.com) and Mest (www.publicaffairsrock.com) show in Chicago at The Metro, a food fight errupted during Bayside's set as Tony and a few of his friends ran out and started throwing a variety of food with the likes of sourdough bread, ham and spaghetti. Tony also announced taht Mest are heading into the studio and should expect a CD release date in the summer while they're on Warped Tour 2005.

I liked Mest's last CD, and I really didn't want to because of the whole GC thing. But it was pretty damn good. Bayside's CD in my opinion was a total flop. It was basically an Alk3 album, but lacking something. I think the cool basslines that make Alk3 songs. Not sure.

Anyway, If I was the club owner I'd be piiiiiissed.

I LOVED Destination Unknown...their last CD has some good songs on it, but then it also had some horrible stuff on it, so I was torn.

poor choice, adam. Bayside's CD is freakin incredible...so dark and catchy, with some of the best lyrics out there. mest is...poop. :blah:

i really liked the bayside cd....which is odd, because i really dont like unoriginal bands....and even though i rock this cd all the time, they sound too much like the smoking popes.

I think im the only kid in my "scene" that likes bayside. but the scene sucks anyways.

I saw this tour at the Crowbar in State College and I was really impressed by Mest. I went to the show to see Punchline and Bayside. Hawthorne Heights blew, as I expected...but Mest was really energetic and even though I don't listen to any of their stuff I was really into them....

The lead singer was pretty funny and did a good job getting the crowd into it (i.e. human volleyball toss, the 'dick suck' song, etc...) He also seemed pretty cool when he was just hanging out playing pool in the bar. I have a new appreciation for them now, even though I don't listen to much of their stuff...

agreed. They played at my school and Mest was so stoned they could barely play. They played for about 30 min and then stopped and told everyone to go home. One of the worst live preformences Ive ever seen. Bayside, Punchline and Hawthorne Heights were all awesome though.

Punchline is a pretty ok pop-punk band. I don't want to like Hawthorne Heights but the song Ohio is for Loves is so damn catchy, I like them almost from that one song.

That song gets stuck in my head so easily. The more I listen to them, the more I start to like them. And after talkin to them, theyre really a buch of nice guys, so that helps.

bayside is blah, but not horrible, just not anything to get excited over... i liked mest's destination unknown and wasting my time, the last one wasnt horrible, but they changed... but mest was the band that got me into this whole "scene" anyway so i can go hating on them, i wanna hear the new stuff

punchline played an amazing set on the mest tour - the best opening band ive ever seen. what with the confetti, and the tamborinist, they were fucking awesome.

Mest isn't total crap. Their lyrics and song writing may be far from unique but when they're not stoned or drunk, they can pull off a really amazing live show. They were drunk 2 out of the 4 times that I saw them and the last time I saw them was at hell fest and Tony was saying some pretty lame shit cause he was drunk. I just lost a lot of respect for that band. I really like their music but them I havent touched their music since last i saw them. I really want to change this name but I've had it too long.

straight up... most new pop punk sucks. i like mest's, punchline and baysides old stuff and the scene sucks. every pop punk kid has turned into posthardcore crap/screamo band. most of these bands are horrible too. jawbreaker couldnt have said it any better too " bad scene everyones fault".

this has probably been posted, but doesn't it seem strange that Hawthorne Heights and Bayside are on a tour with Mest... it just doesn't really fit. There are some darker songs on their new record but.....it would make more sense for them to tour with straight up pop/punk bands.... i dont know.

Where as mest are average, when i saw them @ warped 03 tony was being biggest cock ever an ripping the hell outta certain kids who were a little over weight all because of this one chick who threw a bottle of water @ him, which i thought was a little out of order an it put me off them in a way, but as i said there music is average.
