wasnt trying to score big......def not the best but for a newer band its def not bad at all seems honest to me. Honest meaning not just doing it to make money and/or fame seems real passionate. Cheers to that. you in the band?

Mediocre. They're decent.

Lol, its not an odd release for Solid State at all. In fact its a very predictable release.

o please explain that o wise one...its completely different stylistically than any other Solid State release. Its MUCH more suited for Hydra Head, Neurot or something in that vein. Thats why its cool that its NOT coming out on one of those. I definitely dont see how its a predictable release.

BUT if by predictable you mean Jimmy was in HTD and works for the label and whatever then yea...maybe it is predictable...but DEF not musically

Are you serious? They are another disposable metalcore band. Granted, they are decent, and I dig some of their tunes, but they will be forgotten just as fast as bands such as Oh, Sleeper.
The only band who's sound isn't predictable on Solid State right now is As Cities Burn.

except for these things...
1. they arent metalcore...at all
2. Oh Sleeper is far from forgotten, in fact they are doing very well.
3. As Cities Burn is no longer considered a Solid State Artist...i dont believe...no im pretty sure theyre not...

Predictable. Not worthy of two identical threads. 'Metalcore' is just a bad idea and isn't creative songwriting anymore.

ITS NOT METALCORE DAMNIT!!!
and there are two threads?

Metalcore, nu-metal, and bad post-rock are what the three songs on their myspace sound like.
I'm grabbing from personal experiences, becuase when Oh, Sleeper came out, I was all ontop of them. I haven't thougth about listening to them in well 6 months.
It would be too bad if they lost ACB. It says on their website that they are still on Solid State.

yea there are two threads...i apologize as that was unintentional

Okay. Well I don't know the difference between metal, nu-metal, metalcore, grindcore, hardcore, or any variant thereof.
Whatever they do, it just isn't special. It all sounds all neat and clean and polished but doesn't have any inspiration behind it. It's just music feeding it's own doomed genre, whichever it is. Respect to them for doing what they do, though.

yea ACB is still with T&N so its all the same kinda. They def arent metal anymore so SS doesnt make much sense.
Wait until the album comes out. Every track is different. Most of it leans much more towards ambient metal/progressive than metalcore. Think cult of luna, deftones, neurosis, etc.
yea the oh sleeper album was a short stint for me as well BUT its still doing well, and they had some great tours. i hope those guys continue to do well. there great guys.
but yea TRENCHES IS NOT METALCORE...give it some time, give it a few listens...it will start to make sense i promise.
