MTV2 (www.mtv2.com) is running an awesome contest in the upcoming weeks. Read the information in the replies because it's pretty neat.

Semi-Finals: November 22–25 @ 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT
Live Finale: December 4 @ 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT
MTV2 has joined forces with Mountain Dew and FreedomZone to give one lucky, unknown band their ultimate big break with MTV2’s Dew Circuit Breakout. Beginning Monday, November 22, MTV2 will host the 12 band semi-finalists from the "Dew Music Circuit" as they compete head-to-head in a weeklong battle of the bands tournament on MTV2. Determined entirely by your votes on MTV2.com, MTV2 will narrow the field to three band finalists who will perform live on air at MTV2’s Times Square Studios on Saturday, December 4.

Past Dew Circuit alumni Yellowcard (www.yellowcardrock.com) will be on hand to perform and offer their input at the finale. But it will be your vote that’ll determine the winner, and who walks home with the grand prize package, see prize details below.

Don't Look Down is easily going to win if Yellowcard is involved...the bands are like, best friends. When I saw Yellowcard about three or four years ago Sean gave me the DLD demo and told me they were his boys and he was trying to spread the word. Then the next time I saw them DLD was on the bill.

This seems kind of silly.

all these bands are known by us. we're here. most kids that watch mtv probably won't have any idea who these bands are, let alone know they're somewhat established.
I still catch people who don't know bands like Brand New or TBS and they've been on mtv.

One of the unknown bands is Fifth Year Crush. Vote for them.

Though I have a feeling that Hawthorne Heights is easily gonna take this.

Best selling 1st week sales ever for Victory I think, well at least when it was released (TBS probably beat that with WYWTB, but it beat TAYF...)

wow..so basically get known bands and make them exposed to those who are too fucking lazy and spoon fed to go find good music themselves. but shall be sweet for the band that wins. but i don't think i could take a million kids singing don't look down in front of me. i would flip.

Actually, Atreyu's "The Curse" was the best 1st week sales number for Victory prior to TBS' latest... which sold like 5 times as many.
