'' Racism - what a joke !

Can we make a joke out of anything , should we have limits?
Anything can offend somebody so where do we draw the line?

You should be able to joke about absolutely everything as the mere definition of comedy is based on something that is stupid!

So weather you make a joke out of someone being fat, smelly, female, Irish, perverted, black....etc....... then you may well be so far beyond any prejudice that you couldn't actually see any harm in a comment or a joke.If the joke was on you , you would be laughing your head off!

Now telling these jokes will offend people but why , because of their insecurities ? there preconceptions of you? their agenda? etc....
The answer is probably.

A world where we laughed together at the stereo types in all groups and where we made fun of the extremists in all communities would be a world where maybe these people would stop existing and become literally a joke !

That world is the world I want to be in....................

Laughter is a drug and it is vital to exist and to be able to laugh at yourself is a truly strong and loving characteristic.

I wont end with a joke as this is food for greater thoughts - hopefully ! ''

quite odd thing really but made me think just wondering on opinions coz everyone ive shown this too seems to think racism is one thing we cant joke about but other things such as sexuality and gender can be when they essentialy are the same?

and no smarty pants mention the slave trade in this one as anyone who had dug deep enough or read white gold knows Africans first raided Cornish villages in England and inslaved the British, strange but true!

Me and my friends were all different races my friend Christopher was Mexican so we'd all make jokes(and he'd make up some) about how we should have him mop up all the floors and how he should join his people in his home country and then have five kids stay on welfare all of his life and then call it the American dream. The same went for my other friend Luis because he was half black and we'd make fun of him about loving watermelon and fried chicken, Brian was the white guy and constantly made small penis, gay, and "hey white boy" jokes and then they'd make up ones about me being a terrorist because I'm part Lebanese.

As long as it's understood that it's all meant in good fun and no one is trying to hurt anybody else. Which also in that case if anybody got into a fight or anything we were there for each other like brothers.

If there is no real hatred behind it, it's not wrong.

I make racist jokes, but I never really mean them.

And I refrain from saying them around people I don't really know because they may take it the wrong way.

Most people wouldn't walk up to their mother and use the word "cunt," although they might use that same word freely among their peers. Most people probably wouldn't approach their boss and call him an asshole, although they might use that same word freely among their peers. The point is that context matters in language. When you write an essay for your English class, you write it knowing that your teacher or professor will be reading it. When you write a love letter to your girlfriend, you write it knowing she will read it. You surely do not write both using the same diction, syntax, or style. The same goes for jokes: it may be appropriate for you to joke about something if you are a member of a particular group, but if you are not, members of that particular group may feel like you are belittling them without really understanding how they function as human beings. You wouldn't write a love letter to your professor nor would you write an essay for your girlfriend, because both would be inappropriate. So if you have a friend of a particular race/sex/whatever who has made it clear that racist/sexiest/whatever jokes are acceptable, then you're free to do so. If you do not, then you probably aren't.
