"...where grandmas and grandpas are walking by and saying, 'Oh my gosh, listen to what's coming out of their mouths.' "
why do people always say these things? i know some pretty obscene/vulgar elderly people.

good thing you're not a girl, 'cause then you'd have to worry about him spying on you...unless he likes boys, then i think you might have to start worrying. gah, dirty old men. *shudders*

anybody ever see the Family Guy episode where the old man with the funny voice tries to get Chris to come inside as he's delivering a paper because "he's lonely"? Funny, but creepy.

Funny, the article nowhere mentions/blames the Puritans or the Crystal Cathedral.

Fuck the police.
MCR is badass.

I agree with them being mad at police for kicking people out, but the swearing and shouting "vulgarities"... I think that in a public place MCR should have more sense than that. It's a Best Buy, there are probably lots of kids around there and that if they are allowed to play in a public area they should cut the swearing out in between songs. Within the song is fine, it's artistic liberty I suppose and kids probably won't catch it... but just talking to the crowd there's a lot of unvulgar language that they could use.
I wasn't there so I don't know what occurred, but I'm not going to believe what Way says or what the police say.

I hope you have a rubber band around your wrist, and everytime you swear in public you pull it back as far as it can possibly go - and let go. I mean, these words just might catch on - and then, what would we do ... I think the world would end, I really do. I mean, curse words are the devil!

who's not being sensible?
i just was reminded of that daily show piece about the "free speech" zone for the republican national convention that was held in nyc this year. one of the anchors stepped behind the barricades and started yelling obscenities. twas quite funny, but at the same time sad that there had to be a designated free speech zone.

I swear all the fucking time. But I have the common sense not to swear up a storm into a few thousand watt PA, in a public space, for no reason other than to show how cool I am for being a psuedo-rockstar.
It is a matter of not only respect for others, but self respect. All he had to do was tone it down a little bit. He was probably too busy putting on his eyeliner to think about it.

my thoughts exactly. I swear all the time, but if theres kids around I watch my language, and so do most of my friends. maybe parents dont want their kids to hear curse words cause they will pick up on them. who am i to tell anyone whats ok for their children. its just common decency.

I don't think he was getting busy with his eyeliner. I think he was just very drunk and excessively high off of pills when he felt like expressing obscenities a 1000 times into a microphone in front of 10000 people.

How nihilistic of you Jason. So we should just give up on morals all together?
Every major law on the book relfects some view of morality, and if the vast majority of society believes that morals are irrelevant then anarchy is really the only option. And ask the Congo, Anarchy is not nearly as cool as it sounds.
It's clear even you have some morals that dictate your opinions and you unabashedly pimp out your website to convey these very opinions. Just because your morals don't coincide with - in this case the vast majority of society and the law - don't get your panties in a bunch and whine that morals have no place in society or forum debates. To me, it makes you seem hypocritical and ignorant. Prove me wrong for once.
