im sure the album will be good but it will be annoyingly popular. i already hear fall out boy talk times a million at school. now ill never be able to see them in a smaller club setting, because last time they came around i threw a yogurt in school like 2 weeks before and my parents took out the whip and crossed that date off my crammed social schedule

There is simply no way to one up take this. I dont care how many songs they put out. That album is unrepeatable "is that a word" o well fuck it

What im trying to say is that do to the success of take this their new one will be differently influenced. C-mon they are popular now and that always and i mean ALWAYS changes a band. Its inevidable. Of corse i know their new album will kick ass, it just wont have that amazing feel of take this. the acoustic was alright and i hope that add more of that to the new one.

Pete showed me a few of the new demos and they sound really good! The songs are a bit different, but still have the FOB feel that we have come to love.

Well this guy right here will never turn on FallOutBoy. So if everyone does...I'll be the last man standing.
They need to jump on the "double album" band wagon. Release all the songs. :lol2:

I'm excited for the new album, it'd be nice if they could use all the songs. And they may get decently popular with this release but I'm still gonna love em. I don't know if I think they'll get as big or whatever as Yellowcard though.. FOB just doesn't seem to care about that as much as Yellowcard.

I admit there are some people who don't like yellowcard and taking back sunday because they are popular now but many people are just turned off by their new albums because they didn't live up to their expectations. Do I miss the day I saw yellowcard in a packed pizza parlor with 200 people? yea i do but that doesnt change the fact that i liked one for the kids more than the music they played for 5000 people last month. I wish falloutboy would stay small but if I like their album I'm going to like it.

They aren't going to release a double album. As if bands dont always start with at least that many tracks for a full length.

honestly, not to be mean, but if you dont like fall out boy, why go into the thread and post about it? if i see a popular thread on a band i dont like, i just dont go in, why do people love fighting, i bet the same people love george bush, and crusty old vaginas

You are entitled to your opinion (i disagree with it) so you are not an asshole. If anyone says that you are an asshole for having that opinion, then that person is an asshole for feeling as if their opinion is the only one that counts.

What limits the amount of songs bands can put on an album? Rap CDs have like 25 tracks, why can't we?

because "we" are involved in so many damn comps, e.p.'s and volumious works that "we" have to save some for later.

Besides, theres scene point deflation for hating bush, you didnt get the memo?

Rappers also have about 10 tracks that are just some filler of them shooting some person or some crappy interlude about banging hoz and stuff. Plus, none of them play instruments, so it's easier to make an album with an artificially produced sound.
Basically, we get less music because our music's better.

You're a fucking idiot. I like George Bush. I don't give a fuck that the bush bashing compilation cd had better bands than the kerry bashing one. I can think for myself. I like green day but their political opinion doesn't fuckin matter to me. Just because a musician hates a politician i don't have to. Go blow Michael Moore or something.

My prediction, to go out on a limb here *cough*: fellow AP people will, for the most part, turn on FOB after this next release. It could rock hardcore, but all the teeny boppers are gonna sport more and more of their merch and talk about their CDs and performances and blah blah blah, and you're gonna turn on them. It happens all the fuckin time.
Either way, I can't wait for more information, demos, etc from this album, hopefully the release date is earlier 2005.

Don't you know thats what all the cool kids are doing. I once told a friend who always listened to bands until they got big(his and everyone's defenition of big are varying) and then shunned them and everything they ever did because he thought he was too cool to listen to stuff other people did that he was "so antitrend that he's trendy."
I guess maybe I am not watching enough of it but has FOB gotten any regular airplay on MTV or modern rock radio? I haven't seen that they have and I dont know if they will for this next album but if you would have told me 3 months before "Ocean Avenue" came out that they would have had 3 videos make MTV and get tons of Top 40 airplay I would have laughed in your face until I puked. Lots of bands get huge right after some moderate mainstream success.
Blink 182 - Dammit & Josie (kind of put them out their but they weren't on everyone's radar...one single in to their "Enema of the State" release and they were huge.
Good Charlotte - Little Things, Motivation Proclamation (got some airplay on MTV later at night but not a ton of radio air play...."Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" which at the initial time of its release many people thought was a less accessable sound than stuff from the self titled album ended up making them a household name with 13 year old girs worldwide.
I would go on more but I am far to bored with the topic at this point in the post to continue.....
But anyways Yellowcard came out of basically nowhere...(not like the song "Avondale" was getting much airplay in a Hot Topic near you) and was huge by what seems like nothing more than being in the right place at the right time with the right sound for said time. In other words....luck...or that thing Rufio doesnt have(I always linked them with Yellowcard for some strange reason...seems like both bands came out with albums around the same time and always thought between the 2 it would be Rufio who got big).
