Now ill be the first to admit they arent what they were on the first cd....but their new cd isnt half bad well half of it is bad but the Mountain and the SOS songs are actually really good. and I guarantee you might like them.

Ive liked this band since motivation proclaimation and im not gonna start hating them cuz its cool to do it. I don't agree that there is a "We Hate Good Charlotte Because It's the Trendy Thing To Do" Bandwagon. I think people hate Good Charlotte because they're a horrible fucking band, and they don't contribute any change or decent music to an already struggling industry. If people focused nearly as much energy into listening to old bands like The Cars or The Smiths or even fucking Bowie, they'd begin to develop a better sense of what's good and what is bullshit. Good Charlotte are, and always have been a bullshit band, with bullshit talent, and bullshit lyrics. I give them props for having an anti-suicide themed video, but even that song was bullshit. Little girls may like what they like... my theory is that they like whatever they are exposed to the most. Like the Gaumlich theory AKA Screaming Girl Phenomenon. One Girl Screams, Two Girls Scream, Four Girls Scream... and so on so forth. Kids just aren't exposed to good bands anymore.... I blame MTV and Top 40 Radio, as cliche as it is to do, for that. MTV X (the hard rock and punk channel) was the only good thing that Viacom ever created, but then they fucked that up and turned it into MTV Jams...

There are a lot of people like you that hate them but saying their a bullshit band with bullshit lyrics and bullshit talent is going way to far. I dont know if you heard the new cds but songs like walk away, we believe, and in this world(murder) have really good lyrics with topics that arent all about girls like some bands only seem to do. I dont know how they have can bullshit talent cause i dont know what bullshit talent is. You might hate their music but it doesnt mean that their not talented. As far as not contributing to the music industry and what not i dont know how many bands that are around today that you would consider to be contributing. We arent in the era of the smiths anymore and obviously music is changing. if you feel that they dont do anything for music thats your opinion but i disagree. i dont know any band that sounds like their new album. it has a unique sound to it and you can see a change from the last album. they even said that they wanted to make a record where they didnt have to hold anything back and make music that they are happy with even if it meant that some people might not like it.there are a lot of other bands out there that sound the same and i dont know if you would consider them to contribe at all to music or not but i do agree with you though about how a lot of little girls like whatever music is exposed to them the most. i do think that some people start disliking bands on the fact that they have gotten big and a lot of little girls like them. not everyone but some people do and its wrong.

I listened to their whole CD and frankly, I didn't like any of it except for the intro section to "Predictable" and that was it. It's not a matter of me jumping on the bandwagon, I just really don't like their music, I don't like the way they sound.

The only part about "I Just Wanna Live" that I actually like is the violin in the background and that's it.

I commend you for taking the time to make a legitimate, well thought out argument, rather than turning around and defending your stance on the band/attacking me with incoherant babbling. I see where we have differing perspectives on the industry at our current time, but I am more replying to the fact that I appreciate that you are willing to disagree in a diplomatic manner. It was wrong of me to say they have bullshit talent, because frankly, any band that can get up on stage, or do what bands do, has to have some amount of talent. But I agree with you that it was wrong of me to make that statement. I was set off by a horrible attempt at defending that band. However, I still do see progression in certain bands that are out in the industry right now, breaking boundaries or trying different things. Head Automatica, the Scissor Sisters (although they are like the gay bastard child of Bowie, Elton John, and Pink Floyd), Jimmy Eat World, and even Iron and Wine are all bands that are out there putting quality music into our industry that is constantly forcefed with trendy garbage, as we both agree, obviously.
