it'd be nice if the "real" media in this country did as much research, fact checking and calling of blatant bullshit when they see it like the "fake" news does huh?

The entire episode last night was like a giant "PWNED" stamp being stamped on the foreheads of all conservative politicians.
man, i haven't tuned into the daily show for a while now (just Colbert), but I think for Indecision '08 I just might have to get to the TV a half hour earlier.

It's on perezhilton.com. Half of our countries female population has already seen it. Hopefully it gets the point across.

I hope they release Indecision 2008 as a DVD set. Their coverage of both conventions was some of the best material they've done in years, and they've got me very excited for the fall.
Definitely got me watching again.Same here. This is going to be a very entertaining election.

"Small Town Values" - ignorance and ethnocentrism made large-scale and as American as apple pie.

"Small Town Values" - ignorance and ethnocentrism made large-scale and as American as apple pie.
It scares me at my core.
Brian Williams was fucking brilliant last week on Stewart.
They're kind of driving home how vague and abstract american politics are getting, total buzzwords which no one can really define and only know because of the pleasant connotation the words are usually used. Small-Town values - What are small-town values? And no one knows.

It's an inherently-flawed term. There is no basis for it.
Are they saying that a small town on the east coast will be identical or similar, even, in shared values as one here in Texas? Think again, no matter what, "small-town" values are shaped regionally. It's an umbrella term that gives people from small towns with hardly an inkling of influence or importance a vague feeling of righteousness. It gets votes, and I hate that. People believe what they want to.
Even the people who explain it basically show that its a rural Christian ideal, and how biased is that? I'm sure there are plenty of secular, educated people from small towns who eventually went on into the business sector, or perhaps some field of Liberal Arts. I hate people who pander to blanket terms.

:sigh: whatever happened to Stewart/Colbert '08, huh? I saw this when it was broadcasted, it's awesome, and unlike most rhetoric from actual politicians, IT MAKES SENSE! How sad is it, when the only people that seem to have any journalistic balls to point this shit out are the very people that make fun of the media?

I wonder if Jon Stewart understands exactly how important he and his show are to American politics. It's too bad that the networks who aren't afraid to be shut out of exclusives/interviews/etc like Comedy Central are the only ones talking about real issues and the continuous line of bullshit coming out of people's mouths.
I'd love it if someone would interview one of the people in those segments and ask them their thoughts on their double standards. And yet since the mainstream media is afraid to do their job more people go into the voting booth uneducated.

Colbert asking the guy the 10 commandments was amazing - such balls.Haha the guy could only remember 2 or 3 of them if I recall. You'd think if you're sponsoring a bill you would take the time to know what it is you're sponsoring. That makes too much sense I guess.
