the UN is just as corrupt as any government in the world.

All these UN threads are fallacious in nature.

You're trying to justify bad behaviour by pointing to other bad behaviour.

I think he's trying to justify the war in Iraq, and showing the weakness of the UN. I don't see how he's justifying bad behaviour?

all i pointed out was how corrupt and useless the UN is. i never mentioned anything else, if you are drawing conclusions from it, that is your fault.

I think your intentions are obvious. I don't think I'm the only one who sees why you bother posting this.

i still don't see the problem. these are the people are the supposed authority when it comes to world affairs, and they are corrupt and inept, and for all those that said we can't go into Iraq without UN approval, it is becoming increasingly obvious why the UN failed to give their approval, and while those same people want to bash the United States for conducting an unjust war, how can they make that claim with the mounting evidence against the UN?

I think you kind of proved Dom's point right there.
But I mean, it isn't like the only reason people are against the war is because the UN wouldn't back it. I mean, I don't even hear anyone using that anymore. And also, you use your beloved UN sanctions...so what makes those any different?

the sanctions are corrupt, that is the whole point. instead of punishing saddam they were proping him up and allowing him to embezzle massive amounts of money, and bribe foreign officials. for every person that said we can't go with out the approval of the UN, what do they say now? for all the people that said we would have been better off just allowing inspectors in and continueing with the status quo, what do they say now? this is the largest finicial scandal in the history of the world, and yet there is almost no mention of it, and no discussion of it.
also, it was said that this thread is fallacious, and i fail to see how, there is no attempt here to decive anyone, its plain as day. if people ignore it than that is hardly fallacious.

There's very little to discuss...no one believes a scandal like this could be a good thing.
But its been said before and I'll say it again, since when is corruption new to any form of government?
