I added a review of The Clash (http://www.theclashonline.com) - London Calling: 25th Anniversary Legacy Edition right here (http://www.absolutepunk.net/reviews/showproduct.php?product=511).

I don't know why, but this was really hard to write and I don't like the way it came out, because I don't think I can really do this album justice. So just go buy it.

Voracity sounds better.

You did a great job stating the obvious. That isnt a jab at your writing skills at all so dont take it that way. It is just the fact that like you said...you cant do this album justice. The people out there that don't know this already don't deserve to be told about it....let alone listen to it... no way in hell their ears could interpret the brilliance of the content.
I did find your review useful though in the information you gave about all the special features and bonus material included. I never bought it again because I didn't really see the need for 2 copies and figured the re-issue was just a money grab for someone at the record label who needed a raise.
Now that I see how worth it the re-issue is I will certainly buy it.

I've been waiting for the reissue so I can buy it. Good review by the way, there's no way any review could do this album justice.

If you don't have a copy of London Calling already, please go buy this. If you do have the older release of this, you should probably go buy it anyway. One of the greatest albums of all time.

Im all over it now because of this. If you are heading to do the same make sure to pick up Bowie's Ziggy Stardust while you are at it(or at least his greatest hits if nothing else) and perhaps something by Billy Idol or Iggy Pop.
And on a completely unrelated note...today, like any other day is a great day to buy yourself a Cure, Depeche Mode, and Smiths album.
I mean, I am not forcing you to, but if you dont want Morrissey to introduce you to his tommy gun it would be wise to do so. He(along with a couple others) invented Emo, and he has come back to murder it in cold blood while simultaniously brooding.

I'm not sure why you quoted me, but I whole-heartedly agree wiith what you said. So all the kiddies out there should go buy all those records...and a Pixies record...and some Pavement....and My Bloody Valentine.

Just echoing the "go buy it" sentiments since I am tired of taking the easy way out with the one word phrase response of "word".
And yet again I agree with your other 3 suggestions...did you see that Pavement had a song in the Rolling Stone "Top 500 Songs of All Time" issue this week. IIRC the Pixies did as well.
Also...I wish I was a a parrot.

Loveless is an amazing record. And they just reissued Slanted and Enchanted by Pavement, which, of course, is awesome.

Oh sweet. Yeah I heard about that, their lists were actually pretty good this time. Personally I would like to be one of the woodstock things from Charlie Brown.

Yeah those records are insanely good, and far reaching with influence. I picked up the Slanted and Enchented reissue today, and it's well worth the money even if you have the original.
Oh yeah, great review and what-not man.

This isn't intentionally meant to be the "asshole" post of the thread... but am I the only person who finds the Clash to be rather overrated?

While I love The Clash, I find Sandinista! onward to be hit-or-miss, and Give 'Em Enough Rope to be disappointing production-wise, but you can't argue that the self-titled and London Calling aren't amazing albums.
