that he was in a dream you had?

I know...stupid question - I was just wondering what you all thought. He did show up in a dream I had, and I wasn't sure if it was a good idea if I should mention it to him.

it depends on your relationship with him, is he just an acquaintance or someone you have more of a relationship with? If he's a casual friend, I wouldn't unless the dream was completely innocent and just funny.

Is it not pretty normal to have dreams with your friends in it? Friends and i quite often share our dreams.

Well he's not that good of a friend - we don't hang out or anything - his friends aren't my friends etc.

I was wondering about it because I've been fancying him for a while and when ever I talk to him (which is when I bump into him at the library or around school), I try to filter what I say. And lately I've been doing a bad job of that, so I was just curious I guess :shrug: I mean everything has some sort of underline meaning to it - at least thats how I feel.

ohhh good call...but the thing is I'm pretty bad at remembering my dreams as well, and I don't exactly remember the details/context of the dream, I just remember he showed up - but I guess I can say something like that. Like "hey there...you know you were in my dream last night...you just randomly appeared ..it was funny" or something like that I guess.

If it wasn't a sexual dream I don't see why you shouldn't tell them. It's a pretty good icebreaker to be honest "hello! you know what i dreamt last night?"
And I think it's funny when people tell me that they've been dreaming about me (exept one time when a friend in my class had a dream that my dad died).

I dream about my friends all the time, and one of my female friends told me she dreamt about me...like other people have said, if it wasn't sexual (or, I guess, if you didn't kill his family or something), I don't see why it's a big deal.

He'll probably think it's creepy, unless you are very close and have been in a relationship for a long while.
And since you say he's just an acquaintance that you are possibly interested in, I'd say definitely don't tell him! Imagine some guy you hardly know coming up to you randomly and saying "I dreamt about you last night..."

If one of my attractive female friends told me they dreamed about me I'd use that as an excuse to flirt with them. If I wasn't too fond of them, I'd probably avoid the conversation or keep it all jokes. Bring it up to him and see how he reacts.

i remember my friend sommer would always have dreams about me, turns out she had liked me for 3 1/2 years prior to her telling me this hahaha.

I think you should tell him, but, make sure it was funny, and keep it casual. And if you don't remember the dream, make up something that you think he will find amusing. I've told guy friends when they were in my dreams before, but, only if the dream is something I know they would find funny.

I'd only tell him if it was something funny that happened in the dream. If you done have a funny explanation and was just like "hey, I had a dream about you last night", it would just be awkward.

yeah i never think its weird people dream about me, i dream about so many people that i expect it to just be common for everyone.

edit: are these dreams you're having lucid, or just regular dreams?

I'd say it's normal to have dreams about your friends. However, guys are likely to think everything is about sex. So it may not be the best idea to tell him, unless you're that close to him.

Ah, about a year and a half ago I had a dream about one of my guy friends. In the dream I was about to marry his brother, but he asked me not to since he loved me. I told my friend that I was marrying his brother in the dream, but I didnt tell him what else had happened. I thought it might be weird since 1) I didnt even like him like that and 2) He was dating a good friend of mine ..and I was slightly embarrassed about it.. Later in the year him and my friend broke up, and I started liking him, and it turned out he liked me. After we told each other how we felt, I had more dreams about him, and I would tell him about them. He always wanted me to tell him some steamy naughty dream but they never were haha.. anyways.. now, a year and a half later we're in love, so I figured I'd tell him the rest of the first dream, he thought it was interesting. =P

so anyways.. thats my dream story.. you just have to be smart about it.. if you tell him some weird "i married you and we had 9 kids!!!!" dream, and you're not very close, it might make things awkward. But if it was just "I had a dream I went to this concert and you and me crowd surfed!" that would be different, and can lead into another conversatioin about shows, music, etc.. and then you could get to know him more. So just think about how he'll react before you blab.. sometimes dreams are meant to be secret.. lol

i've had girls tell me i was in a dream they had and i always found it creepy.


but mostly because the girls were creepy.

look man, I know it was a silly question, thats why I said so in the original post -

I figured I would initially give everyone a hint that I obviously know its kind of a dumb thing to ask about.

I was just curious what any of you all thought about it. I don't see why you have to be so insulting .

Besides, I think its a more interesting topic to chat about then most of the stuff on here anyways.

i fer sure wouldn't think twice about it.
just think of it this way:

since your brain cannot "make up" a face it uses faces you've already seen before, at least once..
there are gonna be lots of guys you know in your dreams.

unless he was a significant part of that dream like hugely significant or you get deja vu.
i wouldn't worry 'bout it.
