you're right. their first was awesome. the new one just didn't do anything for me. its a shame. i hate it when bands provide a medicre followup.

its kind of inevitable for some bands........ i think taking back sunday's follow up to tayf was mediocre and extremely radio friendly.....and the used's was exactly the same.....it sucks.....it just tends to happen
all right, how about you guys shut up and talk about alk3?
the new album will either sound like their split with one many army, which completely sucked (minus sadie) or it is going to sound like all the amazing songs they have released on comps (warbrain, heaven, etc.)
so we're just going to have to wait and see.

i liked the songs on the split, but i do agree that the songs on the comps have been much better, warbrain for instance is simply amazing.

heaven was a psychadelic furs cover. hating every minute and sadie off the split were both really awesome i thought, and when you add warbrain to that, then you have three great songs to come from them this year, im really sick of hearing people say the alkaline trio are past their prime, or comments of that nature because i completely disagree

I agree. It happens just about every time you have a band thats been around for a while. Just because they're "older" doesnt mean they've gotten worse. My favorite songs by them span a range of their cds and releases, and I can't wait to hear what they come up with next.

the split was great and so is warbrain. they don't sound the same as they once did, but that isn't bad. they used to be great and are getting even better. i can't wait for the cd and tour.

They aren't past their prime at all. I liked the split, quite a bit actually.

i think good moourning fell pray to skibas vocals, i think they seemed burned out when they wrote that record. it seems as if they are ready to record now and everything after good mourning they put out was awesome, especially war brain. i think people will love alk3 again after this

It is impossible for me to pick my favorite Alk3 record. They all have that same alk3 sound, but they're all so different. Such a beautifully talented band.
Very much looking forward to this record.
just sayin i like From Here to Infirmary the most...

i think the only bad thing about good mourning was that it was overproduced. the fact that the older cds weren't was what i liked about them
