Kid A is the only one I really have liked. In Rainbows is very nice as well. The rest are just alright.
OK Computer isn't only Radiohead's best album, it's also one of the greatest albums in the history of music. Period.

So Ok Computer is just alright?
Yes. It's decent at best. Not a phenomenal album. I wouldn't turn it off if it was on, but I wouldn't turn it on if it was off.
I don't dislike it, but I don't particularly enjoy it. It's just alright.
I wonder if Kid A will ever win one of these polls
Kid A is the liberal party and OK is the Conservative party. Conservatives refuse to change their mind, facts regardless.

Fact: Kid A, although far from a unique album, is refreshing and interesting.

what's wrong with your ears? ok computer is obviously their best..

kid a is never going to win because it is too experimental. ok computer is what you call a hit record because it has catchy tunes that you can sing to.

It's boring. It doesn't have anything to offer that I can't hear in a thousand different places done better by other bands.
Kid A isn't unique as I said before, but it is a very well crafted album, definitely on par with other albums of the same sort.

I love The Bends.
The Bends is okay, it has a couple of standout songs. I liked it more than OK Computer.
Again, I'm not saying OK Computer is bad, it just doesn't do anything for me. It's fine for what it is, but what it is isn't anything great.

I'm listening to OK Computer now. Like I said before, it's a decently good album, but it doesn't stand out to me in the way it does to everyone else. It sounds like a less progressive (shorter songs, less experimental, more "normal") version of pretty much any progressive rock band you can think of. Genesis, Pink Floyd (I'm also not a big Pink Floyd fan), a darker version of Yes, it sounds similar to Brazil's first album, and very similar to the feel and style of Lovedrug's first album, which is also sort of a "less progressive" progressive album, and far better. There are others, but they don't come to mind right now. All of those, except Floyd, I would consider much better than OK Computer.
Another comparison I'd make with OK Computer is that it sounds like a watered-down, less adventurous version of many post-rock bands, especially more accessible ones like Explosions in the Sky, except again shorter songs, and the addition of lyrics.
I think this album would be immensely better if he had employed more of an "instrumental" vocal style like he does in Kid A.
That all being said, The Tourist is a pretty damn good song.

That's doesn't really cut it dude. Back that up, show me the bands which do OK Computer better.
In case quoting you is the only way you'll see this, I'm doing it now.
kid a is never going to win because it is too experimental. ok computer is what you call a hit record because it has catchy tunes that you can sing to.
Yeah but that isn't what we are discussing. We are arguing over which is superior. Kid A is superior. Catchy-ness doesn't mean much, especially when it comes to Radiohead. Metro Station is catchy. They suck.

So you are listening to OK Computer, one of the most respected records ever, for like the third time and we are now to believe you have a valid opinion on it?
Perhaps because you've barely listening to it.I'm not sure where you've gotten that impression. I've been listening to the album once in a while for three years at least. I would estimate that I've heard it around twenty times, not that that matters, as I know upon first listen that albums are great from time to time. Then again, sometimes I don't, which is why over two weeks when I first got it I listened to OK Computer about ten times.
Writing long songs does not make a band experimental. It takes way more talent to write short songs and fit experimentation in there ala The Beatles. Speaking of which you are completely misguided on what OK Computer is trying to achieve. They aren't trying to outdo prog bands in fact they actually really don't like prog. Radiohead are picking up where The Beatles left off with Abbey Road in trying to make experimental and progressive POP songs.I never said long songs are better, or that a song had to be long to be experimental. Learn to read what someone is saying and address it, rather than make up some opinion on the other's behalf that didn't even exist in the text. I never said they're trying to out do anything. I don't care what they were trying to do, I don't care what their names are, I don't care where they live. All I care about is the music, and all I was doing was pointing out similarities to other music with similar styles, ideas, and themes, and telling you which I liked more, which would be the answer to the question you asked. If they were in fact trying to pick up where Abbey Road left off, then they did a pretty bad job as far as I'm concerned.
To compare a garbage scene band to an album like OK Computer is a joke, perhaps you can back it up by saying Deja Entendu is better than A Love Supreme? It's not even worth addressing. Moreover it is stupid because Lovedrug's first album came out in 2004 so if it does sound like OK Computer it is because they ripped them off.I know they ripped off Radiohead; I also don't care. I like it better.
And all except Floyd (which is debatable) are much much worse than OK Computer. Obviously you have a complete misconception about OK Computer, no grasp on chronology and very bad taste is music.Floyd is the only band in the list that I might like less than OK Computer. Obviously you have a complete misconception about Genesis, Yes, and Brazil, no grasp on chronology and very bad taste is [sic] music. Furthermore, you have no conception of how to make a valid point or hold a reasonable argument or discussion.
Once again Radiohead write pop songs. The singing is the drive behind the tracks. Any similarities between them and EITS is because EITS ripped off noisy indie bands like Radiohead and Sonic Youth when they formed in 1999 (two years after OK Computer came out). You're argument is basically like me saying The Beatles are nothing special because Panic at the Disco sound just like them.I don't care if they're writing pop songs, dance songs, chamber music, or whatever label you want to put onto it. The music would be more enjoyable for me if the singing wasn't the drive behind the tracks. In Kid A the vocals were not the drive behind the music and it's a great album.
My argument is like saying The Beatles aren't special to me, and I like the way in which Panic at the Disco uses similar styles and ideas better than the way in which The Beatles use them (which is totally not my opinion, in case you got confused on this point as well).
I'm not trying to take anything away from Radiohead. I'm not trying to say they're not special. I'm giving my opinion on one of their albums.
OK Computer is a decent rock album.
I find it silly that you feel the need to defend an album so vehemently. I simply like Kid A a lot, and I think OK Computer is alright. I'm not bashing the album in any way. In fact, I've said over and over that it's okay, and even pointed out one song that is quite good. If I had to rate it out of ten, ten meaning I love it, zero meaning I hate it, and five being totally indifferent, I'd give it a 6.

The only other album of theirs I've heard is The Bends. I find it more interesting than OK Computer, but still no more than a decent album. Oh, In Rainbows is a very good album. I like it almost as much as Kid A. Very nice album.

Thats because they've never written a "bad" song.
Though I would consider a lot of their early stuff (Pablo Honey era) to be subpar..

I have heard it... of their albums that i've heard it's one of the better ones, but as whole i still can't get into it. but you'll have that with any music. for example i really dig OAR, but i know so many people that don't agree at all.
Kid A is amazing. One of my all time favorites.
Obviously for me OK Computer. I still listen to it so much.

Ahhh, Radiohead. My favorite would be Kid A, one of the best records ever released in my opinion. That followed by In Rainbows, then OK Computer. All of them are fantastic albums. But really, Kid A leaves me speachless every time I listen to it.

So I was thinking the other night..... Sure, Kid A is my favorite album, and OK Computer is considered the classic, yada yada yada...... but where the FUCK is the love for Amnesiac?????? I don't care what anyone says, that album is great. It has the experimental side of Kid A, but it's accessible and more conventional and even *gasp* catchy. It has enough electronics and weird shit to please the Pitchfork crowd, and enough guitar to please the people who want them to just be a rock band. The songs are pretty strong all around, with a few of them (specifically Pyramid Song, Knives Out, I Might Be Wrong) among the best they've EVER done. The only thing I can even fault this album on is the vocal effect on Push/Pulk, which was neat at first but got really annoying fast. It's a great album on so many levels, not to mention some of their coolest artwork. I just can't say enough good things about it... yet no matter who you talk to, Amnesiac is consistently shit upon. The only album people seem to hate more is Pablo Honey, which incidently is also not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Am I the only one who loves Amnesiac? Why do people hate it so much? I just don't get it.....

Everyone is either saying Kid A or Ok Computer, but I think it's In Rainbows. It perfects the atmosphere that Radiohead had on Ok Computer, and yeah it dosent have all those weird songs that Kid A does but its just a pleasure to listen to and quite possibly my faveorite album of all time

Amnesiac is my 3rd favorite Radiohead album behind Kid A and OK Computer. It has some really cool stuff on it.
